  1. Frustrated that the Sox didn't win last night. Jays got a win. We sat on our butts. Fire Cora!
  2. And the Rays rotation has not yet had the good fortune of facing the Joey Gallo led Yankees.
  3. He was bad in the pen during the season, but in the postseason: 7 Inn, 1 ER, 3 H, 4 K, 3 BB. He may have been a little lucky, but I'll take it.
  4. Yes, and we've seen other teams in this race go on a similar run. You are never as good as you are during a winning streak or as bad as you are during a losing streak.
  5. I went over to statcast and Nick Senzel has a very similar sprint speed with a much worse ARM score. I had a much larger post with charts, graphs and inbedded video, but got the dreaded TalkSox database error. That beautiful post is lost to history.
  6. 3.79 FIP, 1.36 WHIP, 16 QS 5.7 Innings per start. He'd be the #3 or 4 on this team.
  7. Really a perfect fit IMO.
  8. Sox should start drawing up plays where Renfroe takes a cutoff throw from Duran.
  9. His arm is worse than Verdugo. There was a reason he was a 2B in college and not a SS.
  10. Would the Sox have won 2013 without Peavy? (Montas was part of the package that brought him here)
  11. Ok, but I don't think run differential is the end all be all. I imagine that a high octane offense like the Jays would feast on bad pitching, but struggle against good pitching. This can turn around once the younger guys mature a little bit. I think they'll be much better in the following years, especially if they dump their sack of potatoes coach.
  12. Yes, Verdugo is better in LF. However, if we are comparing Duran vs Verdugo in CF, Verdugo can hit and Duran cannot. Verdugo came up as a CFer in the Dodgers organization. He doesn't look lost out there. He just doesn't have Duran's athleticism. However, Duran just looks very uncomfortable in CF. He gets poor reads and speed can only make up a small part of a missed first step. Verdugo has the instincts to play CF, it'll just be underwhelming. Duran has no instincts and is worse than Verdugo. If the Opening Day lineup next year had Verdugo AND Duran in it, I'd have Verdugo in CF and Duran in LF.
  13. I think it's a 75% chance. If I was GM, I'd give him the QO.
  14. The Mariners are fine. Could they get into the WC game? Sure. I think all of the teams mentioned (Sox, Yanks, Jays, A's, M's) all have good upside, but all the parts aren't quite there yet. None of them are far ahead of the others.
  15. @MerloniFauria Hunter Renfroe on the #RedSox COVID issues: "MLB basically told us to stop the testing and just treat the symptoms. We're like "No. We're gonna figure out what's going and keep this thing under control."" @loumerloni : MLB asked you to stop testing? Renfroe: "Yes." DAFUQ?
  16. They apparently do them monthly during the season, but don't do one after the trade deadline (when Dalbec turned up).
  17. @JoeyMacHockey Hearing Seabold, Ort, Herrmann and Lopez all called up to join Red Sox' taxi squad for upcoming road trip. Seabold is highly likely to make his first appearance.
  18. Jesus Montero.
  19. Have they updated recently?
  20. No, I'd say the hand getting hit in the hand by a pitch is bad luck. With COVID, these guys are making their own luck. He apparently had really rough go of it, but we were also told that the vaccinated players that caught COVID only had mild cases. Clearly, dum dum should have gotten the jab jab.
  21. I might be up there. I didn't figure out that "Orlando" was Bloom until just now.
  22. Duran gets horrible reads in the OF. There's no way he gets closer to either of those balls.
  23. Perez wasn't the 5th starter in 2020.
  24. Well, he's wrong.
