No, it helps my case. In a pennant chase, Duran will not have the time to turn it around. He'll need a much longer leash, but it may best to send him to AAA to work it out. Otherwise, it's going to drag the team's hopes down the drain.

IDK how I feel about that one. I didn't look into Ducky much and Dick was a decent player (record holder too, see below). I think I just excluded because it was an uncle/nephew gimmick rather than father/son or brother/brother. Their lineage was a little more indirect. He shares the record for most seasons having at least 400 at bats and fewer than 100 hits, having done it four times.

Still worse than Dalbec's split against LHP: 847. I think I'd want Dalbec starting every game over Marwin. You can sell me on needing to start Kiké in CF and Marwin at 2B for a game or two. -

It's funny, because at the time of the trade, everyone was saying Beni going to KC was a better fit and he'd succeed there. It was supposed to be a better cultural fit for a guy from SE Ohio.

@PeteAbe Alex Verdugo's three-day paternity leave (under MLB rules) is over. He's on the restricted list now.

Pedey and JBJ had offseasons to workout their issues. Duran doesn't have that luxury right now. Pedroia's sample also wasn't "much bigger" than Duran's. If Duran follows JBJ's path, he'll be ready in 2023.
