  1. I'm fine with it. I think Casas is called up during 2022. Maybe they trade JD at the deadline?
  2. He's basically pitching like Houck. 1st time through the order: 1.47 ERA, 596 OPSa 2nd time through the order: 3.18 ERA, 831 OPSa 3rd time through the order: 7.20 ERA, 820 OPSa Previously, his 2nd and 3rd times through the order looked more like the 1st.
  3. I'll take the guy with the 158 WRC+ over the past 5 games for sure.
  4. And the second everyone started to laud Dalbec's improved defense, he drops a few catchable balls. He has time, but I think Casas is better. If the Sox are really wanting to compete, they need more complete players.
  5. Well, then it's a good thing I don't see TalkSox as a "debate" and don't really care to do any more research than I've already done.
  6. It just doesn't make sense. Saying I'm pining for someone when I've only mentioned it once. Also, to think I'm offended at anything on here is ridiculous. Thank you for using A700 talking points though. Glad he could be of use to you.
  7. Makes sense that they'd bring DeShields back since he was here this year and then DFA'd. BTW, DeShields has a 120 WRC+ for the Reds since the Sox DFA'd him. :/
  8. You're signing Caesar Puello and Yasiel Puig, right?
  9. If they can't go 4-2 over the last 6 games, they deserve to miss the WC game.
  10. We are not destined to lose, but it seems more likely when the team is not playing well.
  11. I distinctly remember it being the moonslav59 Affect when I was growing up...
  12. In a post about no hit/great glove guys, you put Nick Castellanos, Avisail Garcia, Conforto, Blackmon, Calhoun and Jorge Soler in there... Don't just put a bunch of random players in a list THAT DON'T FIT THE PROFILE. C'mon man.
  13. Did he not K 4 times on Sunday? If I make a statement and you say "well you're wrong." It's up to you to prove me wrong. You haven't. I prefer a guy who puts the ball in play. I'm not sure why you think that's such a controversial statement. It definitely has more sound reasoning that some of the stuff you've put out there before.
  14. I'm not sure what to expect. I think we need to temper expectations for him going forward. He's 32 and hasn't pitched 160 Innings since 2017. Will he return to the ace we saw 3-4 years ago? Hard to say.
  15. Maybe? Time will tell. I'm hopeful for Dalbec and want to keep him around. Past 5 games: 0 BB%, 61.5 K%, 385 OPS, -14 WRC+
  16. Ones that are cheap and available in FA, sure.
  17. What fixation? This is the first time I've mentioned bringing him back.
  18. I'd rather have Duran on the roster than Marisnick. There's no upside there with Marisnick.
  19. Like who? Who would you bring in instead. I thought JBJ would be a good, cheap PR move and he helps with the defensive issues the Sox have.
  20. The recency effect is "they got swept by the Yankees, I hope they play better against the O's." If they then s*** the bed against the O's, it's not "recency effect" it's "the team is NOT playing well. This team has had wild swing going up and down. Right now they are on a downturn until they play better. Could they turn it around? Yes. Will they? Very uncertain. However, there are signs that this team is NOT built to win in the playoffs: rotation question marks, no closer, bad defense.
  21. You asked and I made a case. You don't have to agree with it.
  22. I think you're just being obstinate.
  23. I asked for proof and wasn't given any. For all OF positions combined, this season was his second best year of UZR/150.
  24. Marisnick has not been good this year. I'd rather have JBJ at $4M. Again, JBJ isn't a savior. He'd just help shore up the defense that you've been clamoring for.
