  1. I don't understand why some plays but not others are reviewable. You can tell me that check swings or a called ball or strike shouldn't be reviewable, fine. However, I think a ball that hits a bat, a batter, or is dropped by the catcher's glove should be reviewable.
  2. J.D. Martinez’s top priority is on getting the Red Sox into the playoffs, though once this season’s business is complete, Martinez will have to decide whether or not to return to the Sox for 2022. The slugger tells WEEI.com’s Rob Bradford that he is “right in the middle” about whether he will opt out of the final season (and $19.375MM) on his contract, or if he’ll come back for a fifth year in Boston. Well, that clears everything up!
  3. Persona non grata.
  4. Nope. Yanks won a WS.
  5. I believe the sox hold the tie breaker against the Jays and Yanks.
  6. Nobody cares what a player's dumb wife says. MLB players are dumb enough as it is. We don't need to go to further into their family to get bad takes.
  7. The Rays have won 88+ games 8 times with 2 WS losses and 4 ALDS losses.
  8. The Marlins have won 88+ games twice and have won the WS both years.
  9. Marlins went all in on their first championship and spent heavily. For the second time around, it was a lot of young talent that just threaded the needle that year. After 03 they won 83, 83, 78, 71 with most of the same players.
  10. It hasn't though. They retained Xander, JD, Devers, Sale, Eovaldi, ERod, Barnes, Vazquez.
  11. If you can successfully manage it, you can always remain close enough to the limit where you can go under every few years and not have to consider it a "cliff."
  12. Since the Rays were born: Red Sox: 4 WS titles Rays: 0 WS titles (only 3 games won in 2 series)
  13. Being a Mariners fan, you certainly know where to find it.
  14. Glad you're feeling great about being swept in the final homestand by a historic rival.
  15. What will happen is they'll sweep the O's and to get the top seed and then just lose 2 to the Nats. They'll slink into the WC in the Bronx and the pen will blow it in spectacular fashion after the defense fails to make an easy 3rd out late in the game.
  16. Yes, EVERYONE AT THE MLB LEVEL IS CAPABLE OF HAVING A GOOD DAY. The Sox should still hit them around though.
  17. Go buy a tee and a hitting net. You guys will feel better.
  18. Yeah, I looked at the score midafternoon and thought there was no way I'd hold you off.
  19. And quite often you don't.
  20. Yes, AND Ellis isn't even starting this series. According to Fangraphs, they are starting the underwhelming Bruce Zimmermann (coming off the 60 day IL and gave up 3 ER in 2 Innings in AA 2 starts ago), Zac Lowther (7.66 ERA) and Alexander Wells (7.61 ERA).
  21. I'm just providing a free service to all. I was told that the only way I'd get a new work laptop was to through mine into the river. Good luck.
