    After 883 games and 3247 at-bats over nine minor league seasons, Jack López will be getting his first big league start at second base tonight. Along with winning a Silver Medal at the Olympics, López has slashed .260/.321/.378 this season at Triple-A.

There’s no way to know’ if outbreak would have been different with higher vax rate Bloom says ‘majority’ of positive infections have been breakthrough positives. Bloom says levels of symptoms have varied. Sox optimistic that no one will have long-term symptoms. Bloom says vaccination status ‘will have to be a conversation in the industry’ regarding player personnel decisions. Bloom says he believes Red Sox ‘moved the needle’ in terms of vaccinations among team personnel through education earlier this year. He’s been asking himself whether the org could have done more.

    That's honestly what has broken me this year. They have just played so miserably. That 3rd inning last night was something to behold.

    Don't pick up Vaz, but sign Yan Gomes? I would imagine the Rays would pick up Zunino's option, but maybe Bloom would try to pry him away? Martin Maldonado can't hit, but you could probably get him for cheap. Go with Manny Pina and save lots of $$$?

    His offense fell off enough this year that he's probably not worth $7M to anyone. This has also been his worst defensive year by far. Sometimes the clock ticks a little more quickly for catchers. He's not playing like a 30 year old. He's playing like a 35 year old.

    Downs got attention because he was the high profile prospect brought back in the Mookie trade. There's no other reason for it.
