  1. Pivetta on COVID IL.
  2. That’s why wins are a dumb stat.
  3. Hello Mother, Hello Motter
  4. Dude has a 6.66 ERA. Scary.
  5. Uh RICHARDS
  6. In 115 at-bats with the Yankees, Joey Gallo has only recorded 15 hits. A poor man’s Dalbec.
  7. RHern? Too soon to call it.
  8. OPS back up to 835.
  9. That contract $ per WAR is trash. It has nothing to do with market value.
  10. I’d take it. I won’t be mad if he opts out.
  11. I prefer to listen to the trained scouts that say “he takes bad routes to balls.” Can he get better? Sure. Will he? Who knows?
  12. 1. Kyle Schwarber 1B 2. Rafael Devers 3B 3. J.D. Martinez DH 4. Alex Verdugo LF 5. Hunter Renfroe RF 6. Kevin Plawecki C 7. Jarren Duran CF 8. Jack Lopez 2B 9. Jonathan Arauz SS
  13. Yes, but he could rack up a few more wins in the pen too.
  14. Every offseason we kept predicting Marcus Wilson would be DFA'd too. It took a lot longer than any of us expected.
  15. If the Sox called Groome up, it wouldn't ruin him. He just wouldn't be very good on the field. I don't think it'd have any negative impact on his play in 2022.
  16. Let's pretend that we had the old rules and could have 40 players on an active roster in September and that MiLB was over. No, having Groome on this roster for a few weeks wouldn't hurt him. He might not pitch all that much, but it could be good to have him around some of the MLB guys (he did spend considerable time working out with Sale in the past). I wouldn't expect him to pitch very well in a game though. In that respect, were MLB GM's resistant to call up guys for the 40 man active roster back a few years ago? If those guys failed, was it rushing them? Did that hurt their confidence? If it would hurt their confidence, a GM would never call up any decent prospect in the old 40 man days.
  17. Yes, they could probably use him. Seems like his "stuff" is back to 100%.
  18. Hell no. He can barely get A+ guys out.
  19. The division race is OVER.
  20. The problem is that he's already on the 40 man. You can't hide a bunch of guys on there for a few years. Jay Groome: 2 years away? Brian Mata: No timetable?? (They won't 60 day IL him for service time reasons) Hudson Potts: 40 man casualty this offseason? Rosario: give him one more year to figure it out?
  21. Also "baseball is based on confidence." These hitters expect to fail 7 out of 10 times when up to bat. If they fail during short term exposure to MLB pitching, shouldn't that just roll off them?
  22. Who the hell is making that argument? I hate the STRAWMAN nonsense, but... Wow.
  23. I believe lower ceiling guys COULD be more likely to be called up early because the arbitration risk is much lower than for top tier prospects. However, lower ceiling guys are less likely to be called up because they aren't as good. It's a tightrope walk with talent and service time that is f***ING STUPID.
