  1. Yuck.
  2. Well, I was obviously right because I wanted a fire sale even before the season started. They shouldn't have been a below .500 team though.
  3. I'm not talking about being in 6th place where they are now, but up where the Mets are.
  4. It's the exact same scenario every team wants to do. That's why it's really impossible to do it all through free agency, because you are competing with other clubs that will offer more money to one of two of the guys that you want.
  5. I saw a media source in the DR state that the Sox have reached out to him about a 7 year extension and want it done soon.
  6. That was the real stinker this season. Like why go over? It was a sinking ship!
  7. And they probably didn't dump JD, Eovaldi and others at the deadline as they saw a negative impact on the cash flow in 2012 and 2014 when they did something similar. Maybe that's why they half assed it?
  8. Owners get about $110M just from tv rights before they even open the gates to the stadium. With NESN, the Sox haul in far more than that. The Sox are definitely not hurting for cash. If there weren't restrictions on going over the luxury tax, I think the Sox payroll would be much higher compared to other teams.
  9. Doesn’t matter. Price is off the books now.
  10. Even if they had Margot, it doesn't get them +25 games in the standings and make the beat the Astros in the ALCS!
  11. The biggest negative DD had was the the signings AFTER 2018: Sale and Eovaldi and not figuring out how to re-sign Betts. That put the org into a tailspin IMO.
  12. Espinal Dubon
  13. It's working out in 2022. I can't speak to the Phillies farm stuff at all.
  14. Low Budget Plan or Mayer and Rafaela in 2024
  15. Judge doesn't have health concerns?
  16. Castellanos had a 94 wRC+ with only 13 HR's and an OPS under 700. In the playoffs, his OPS has been under 600. He has been horrible this season regardless of his glove. That's 5 years of a bad contract.
  17. It is true, Judge holds the AL record for most HR's hit.
  18. Yankees should dump Cashman, but keep Boone.
  19. You would have Rafaela still in the minors in 2024 or just as a backup?
  20. When you dig into Correa's numbers, you find that he's the opposite of Xander. Xander had a weird skewing of his numbers where he found all of his value in when he was shifting (+5 OAA). For Correa, his best defensive positioning is when he plays SS - straight up +1 OAA and he was worse when shifted. Correa's defense should improve in 2023 and Xander's should get worse.
  21. If they sign Correa, Raffy is gone.
  22. 2024 1B Casas 2B Story SS Mayer 3B Correa Seems like a pretty good infield?
  23. Of the 4 remaining teams, this was the preferred outcome I guess. SD just needs to trade Machado and I do like to root against teams that go all in at the deadline.
  24. When you start the year in AA, you are close enough to BOS that a slight shift in your game can get you the call. We'll see though.
  25. Yes, the chances are that he needs some major pitch recognition adjustments prior to getting to BOS.
