If I'm the Sox, I move Houck back into the rotation. His stuff has not "played up" in the pen.

The Betts trade sucked, but only because we lost a franchise player that the Sox weren't going to pay. Not Bloom's fault. The Beni trade was whatever. It was basically Beni for Cordero and Khalil Lee and then we spun Lee for prospects, from what I remember. The JBJ trade was horrible and still doesn't make much sense. I believe they'd be under the cap if they kept Renfroe's ARB amount and skipped out on signing Hill.

I'd take the control of Dugo or Duran, but the actual play itself goes to Beni. I hope you are joking about Refsnyder as even Cora doesn't play him everyday.

I'd rather have Beni that any Sox OFer right now. I'm just saying he's overvalued. He's not what we thought he'd become. He's a fine OFer who has run into a little bit of luck this year to boost his average. If he was able to tap into power, he'd be a perennial all star. He's just not at that level.

Is the plan to sign 3-4 pitchers that are going to spend half the year on the IL again?

Look at the FA market this season. Are there 5-7 slots you can even fill with it? Has Bloom shown that he'd be willing to fill the team that way? More likely it's a combination of trade for younger guys, farm development and FA signings.

Soto has zero lineup protection. Devers is still hitting 2nd in front of JD/Bogey.

Soto xSLG 95th Percentile Devers xSLG 97th Percentile Soto isn't 100th Percentile anymore, but that's hard to do every year. Devers also can't compete with Soto's xOBP: 2018 94 2019 98 2020 100 2021 100 2022 100

I don't think he gets 8 years. Those kind of deals aren't really that popular to give out.

There have been big questions about the OF each year since Bloom took over. I have no idea what the plan is out there.

Bogey isn't getting 250, Raffy isn't getting 500. Soto is vastly better than Devers and younger too. He turned down a contract because the AAV was too low.

They were under last year. They'd be under if not for Price's 16M which comes off this year. Sale is done in 2025 Story is 23M through 2027 (unless Story opts out, unlikely) which kinda just replaces JD's contract as of 2023 Bogey is already on the books for 20M, giving him a 5M raise isn't a big deal Just give Raffy his current money, plus Price's money, plus some of JBJ's money
