  1. I think they already had called him up earlier this season, but he sat on the bench. At the very least, he was inactive and on the taxi squad.
  2. He's also been hitting the ball really well. Would be a fill in DH if need be.
  3. I'd due a 2 year deal at short money for him. 2/13?
  4. No way. If Bloom pulls that off, I want to hear some apologies.
  5. July has been his most productive month with 5 HR's. His k rate was also at 42.3% tho...
  6. David Hamilton went 2 for 4 with two steals. He now has 49 on the year, with one of the steals on Sunday coming on a pitchout.
  7. Kiké is a great OFer. JBJ is a great OFer. If they were paired with Verdugo for 120+ games, it would have looked really good out there if the hitting wasn't atrocious. Verdugo is on par with what Beni was, so slightly above average for LF. Duran is bad. Arroyo is bad. Cordero is bad. The problem is that the MLB roster had to be supplemented with a lot of AAA guys and the org depth isn't good enough at that level right now. In another year or two, bringing up the AAA guys won't be such an issue, but it was ugly for this year. The Sox basically needed to replace 4 positions this year due to injury/ineffectiveness: 1b/2b/CF/RF. That's a lot to do from within.
  8. Oh no, not farm altering, but even Vogelbach brought back something better than what was suggested above.
  9. Unless you want to give him a QO.
  10. 4 months from now? A lot can change.
  11. 9 months ago?
  12. You never know. The prices at the deadline can get pretty dumb.
  13. Renfroe isn't exactly Lou Gehrig, especially this year.
  14. Connor Wong will be the backup next year (and he's supposedly good with the pitching staff). I would have been happy to promote him this year and DFA Plawecki. Having a Plawecki/Wong combo down the stretch wouldn't be competitive though, but that's not what they'd be going for.
  15. The MLB squad is worse off. Is the organization as a whole worse off? It depends on how much you value lottery tickets.
  16. Mookie was an ownership decision. It's right to blame Bloom for what Beni and Renfroe turned into. Last year, the grab bag worked out. It failed this year. If the team plays poorly next year, it is a near replication of Cherington's tenure.
  17. It wasn’t an emergency, it was the plan. It wasn’t due to injury or something unforeseen.
  18. The questionable move last year was having Cordero be the everyday LFer on Opening Day. Thankfully, Kiké moved into CF and fixed the OF by May.
  19. Trade all expiring contracts. DFA Diekman.
  20. I honestly don’t even recall the details of the negotiations with Bogey. Sox were wrong with Betts though. I’ve said that since he was dealt.
  21. You’ll get to enjoy him all of next year too!
  22. That’s a good price!
  23. That’s the org’s worry. In BP, they throw him balls intentionally that he has to lay off of.
  24. If someone pays him 30 over 8 years as others have suggested, good luck to them.
  25. They were very lucky with health, especially with starting pitching. I don’t think Sale really helped turn much at all around. I agree that the team had some serious flaws.
