  1. Like Kimbrel in Boston and LA?
  2. I'm not counting on a WS championship, but I'm not saying it's impossible.
  3. Eric Hosmer - Low Risk, Low Reward He can go on the Panda Sandoval in the North End diet and it won't impact the 2023 Sox. They can just DFA him at anytime.
  4. The Swanson $$$ seems really low.
  5. No. Capable of closing vs capable of being a closer
  6. Worked in 2013. In 2007, they didn't go out and sign a closer.
  7. That's basically what we've all come up with, just with different names filled in.
  8. @mlbtraderumors Eric Hosmer Won't Exercise Opt-Out Clause Wow. Big surprise here.
  9. I agree about both Houck and Whitlock. Whitlock is a better fit for the rotation and Houck for the pen. However, they just need to be given a role and stuck their for a whole season for the good of their careers.
  10. @redsoxstats Last night at the same time, two mlb insiders published stories and one said Story is next line to play SS, the other said Correa, Swanson, or Turner would be. It’s like this every winter and is going to be like this even more so this winter. These are mostly agents putting out press releases. Anyone mad the Sox are doing due diligence on everything, turning over every rock, or thinking “interest kings” is some kind of slanderous term, need to shake the rocks out of their head.
  11. Mark Feinsand, MLB Reporter and author of "The Franchise: New York Yankees": “According to sources, the Red Sox have started reaching out to some teams regarding the availability of their second basemen, hoping to figure out Plan B in the likely event that Bogaerts leaves Boston.”
  12. “They seem happy with their rotation of Chris Sale, Nick Pivetta, Brayan Bello, Garrett Whitlock and Tanner Houck.” (Via @JimBowdenGM) Boo this man. Booo!!!
  13. I was just using the estimates based on your list only and ignoring all other FA's. Honestly, I think the Judge and Turner amounts are low which is why I put them in my list. Otherwise, I don't see the Sox grabbing them.
  14. Well, there is really no such thing as low risk high reward.
  15. Since 2016, Gray has had 1 season above 3 fWAR. Paxton has had 4 seasons above 3 fWAR. When Paxton is healthy, he's much better than Gray.
  16. Just a bit outside... the margin of error.
  17. Turner 30.7 Judge 36.8 Bassitt 16 Kluber 11.5 You didn't list any other relievers, so I'll assume Rogers is the only guy available this offseason and I'll pass. Whitlock can be closer again.
  18. Tommy Pham's option has been declined by the Sox
  19. They had been getting a lot of flack Liverpool fans latey.
  20. He obviously couldn't announce that prior to the WS ending. Would be glorious if he did that.
  21. The knock on Walter has been his age all along. It's why he wasn't regarded very highly early on even though his numbers were really good. Drafted at 22 in 26th round. 2020 season cancelled, year 23. A/A+ as a 1st year pro at 24. He would have debuted in MLB last season, but got injured.
  22. Powerball is $2, sir.
