  1. No, that'd be signing Swanson.
  2. "May we get what we want, but not what we deserve!"
  3. You guys are being more annoying than the auditors I have in my office this week. Be better.
  4. Mr Bellhorn, it's the Holiday Season and I don't think we ever officially celebrated this?
  5. It's just kind of hypocritical that you get some info from sports radio, but then get down on others for doing the same. To each their own though.
  6. I think Duran, Seabold and DHern each have better trade value than what was dealt for Koss. Downs is veering close to a dump, but I wonder if the Sox just hold onto him for one more year and hope for the upside. Unfortunately, I have a hunch that we are going to be stuck with Brasier as the 13th BOS pitcher. I'm not a fan, but it could always be worse.
  7. I promise to never use this knowledge for evil.
  8. Didn't you say Justin Verlander was winless in the postseason because of TX sports radio?
  9. Butch from the Cape died a long, long time ago. You can't use him as a source anymore.
  10. I think they could dump any of those guys but Ort onto another team for a younger prospect. I believe that's how we have received guys like Koss in the past.
  11. I can't corroborate either way. I'm hopeful that he'll work out, because of his particular skillset.
  12. We'll have to see. It's a gamble. If his talent was guaranteed to translate, his contract would be much higher. He signed at a discount due to the unknown.
  13. This is TalkSox. Half of the posts on here are made up.
  14. Senga. Players come from oversees almost every offseason. This isn't some abnormal situation. Sox gave Rusney 72M. I'm sure Yoshida will offer more value than Rusney did.
  15. That's how all FA contracts are signed, right? That's how Xander signed with the Padres. I'm sure the Sox knew Yoshida would be available long before it was announced and had conversation with Boras about him.
  16. JH owns the paper. Of course there'd be an article standing up for their side if it was possible.
  17. Then why are the player's benefits also counted in the luxury tax calculation...
  18. Good one!
  19. He's only traded one top player in Betts from my recollection. If you include Beni, you'll also have to include Christian Vazquez who has a similar career fWAR and playing time.
  20. The Mayor's Cup will be more important than ever.
  21. @SPChrisHatfield Catching up on some Red Sox MLFAs: RHP James Norwood signed a minor league deal with NYY RHP Brian Keller and OF Johan Mieses are signing with Hanshin in Japan.
  22. If Bloom had a press conference where he came out and said "look, I'm just trying to be careful to not sign Hanley and Pablo 2.0" I think he'd win a few people over.
  23. Why would the union ever allow a hard cap? Even the luxury tax artificially deflates salaries.
  24. According to BTV, Devers still has value to return a top 100 prospect like Casas. I think I'd rather go the one for one route than the grab bag route that Bloom has done in the past.
