  1. The way Jared Carrabis tweets his opinions is honestly exactly how I feel about Red Sox ownership. I’ve never been less excited for a season to start.
  2. Plus the New York media will love Stromans twitter personality where he often causes drama by liking controversial tweets in the middle of the season, such as “we should eradicate white people” or “the holocaust isn’t real slavery.”
  3. I really like Michael Penix, he’s not really been getting much love from the scouts but he looked really really good last night.
  4. Liverpool are a serious candidate in the race to sign superstar Kylian Mbappé, per @GFFN. A deal would cost several hundreds of millions. The Red Sox have reportedly had mandates to stay under the luxury tax while FSG invests billions into Liverpool, the Penguins, and the PGA. Thank God!
  5. My main problem with this is that it’s a deal that’s friendly for Giolito but not really the Sox. If he sucks, he gets $19 million, if he’s good and that’s a big if, he’s a solid deal.. for 1 year and then can cash in the next season and Sox are left with nothing. I don’t get it for a team that isn’t winning now.
  6. BREAKING: The Atlanta Braves are acquiring seven-time All-Star Chris Sale in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, sources tell ESPN. Well-regarded infield prospect Vaughn Grissom is the return to Boston, which will send money with Sale, who waived his no-trade clause to join Atlanta WOW
  7. He was absolutely horrendous with the Angels and Guardians, so hopefully we don’t get that version of him…
  8. BREAKING: Right-hander Lucas Giolito and the Boston Red Sox are in agreement on a two-year, $38.5 million contract that includes an opt-out after the first season, sources tell ESPN. Boston lands its first big signing of the winter. The question now is: Will there be more?
  9. 2 years $38.5 million
  10. The Sox have done absolutely nothing to show they even want to be somewhat competitive this season. I think I’m turning off auto renewal for MLB.TV
  11. Dodgers have one hell of a roster. Will definitely be interesting to see how that all unfolds
  12. Tyler Glasnow was just traded to the Dodgers.
  13. I know about Ja before too, but IIRC Murray State pulling off some impressive tournament games including an upset kind of moved the needle from top 5 pick to consensus number 2 behind Zion. He was just a recent example off the top of my head. I think one kind of odd thing about the football season is that the transfers start as soon as regular season is over. We haven’t even had the bowl games or playoffs start yet and dozens of players have transferred to new teams. In basketball, the players don’t transfer/enter draft till after the NCAA tournament.
  14. They all have the chance of being a champion in March madness and can even potentially improve their draft stock or if they play at a small school? Get noticed by the bigger schools/earn NIL deals. Ja Morants performance in March madness at Murray State definitely helped him. Same with Dame at Weber State and CJ McCollum at Lehigh. Winning the “mayonnaise bowl” and dollar general bowl isn’t going to help these players stock and the games realistically don’t mean anything and football is also a much more dangerous sport than basketball in terms of potential long term/career ending injuries.
  15. I mean the bowl game means nothing and he’s going top 10 in the draft. Jaylon Smith went from top 10-15 pick to falling to 2nd round because of a major knee injury he suffered in a meaningless bowl game. There is no benefit to these kids playing.
  16. Also, Notre Dame in 2025 has one of the best QB prospects in the nation coming, and he’s been recruiting many other high level recruits, giving Notre Dame one of best recruiting classes for that year. https://www.si.com/college/notredame/recruiting/quarterback-deuce-knight-is-aiming-for-the-best-recruiting-class-in-notre-dame-history
  17. Riley Leonard was a projected to be a first round pick before he hurt his ankle and it sidetracked his season. Also, developing QBs in college is easier said than done. It’s a new era and almost every star QB who’s on a playoff contender is a transfer. Jayden Daniels, Michael Penix and Bo Nix all competed for heisman this year, all were transfer QBs. As were Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Caleb Williams, Quinn Ewers, Kyler Murray, and many others.
  18. A potential 1-2-3 of Mookie, Freeman and Ohtani is absolutely absurd. Plus they will have Will Smith, Muncy, Outman and will be getting back Gavin Lux back among others.
  19. He’s also won two gold gloves.
  20. Sounds like the Ohtani rumors were prematurely leaked and he has no decision yet.
  21. And Orioles and Rays are going to be better with their fame systems. At least John Henry is making money!
  22. Stroman allegedly “liked” a tweet that was anti-Semitic in support of Kyrie Irving. He doesn’t have any actual “issues.”
  23. I would’ve been fine if they decided to just ban Michigan from the playoffs for the cheating scandal and let all of Texas, Bama and FSU in.
  24. I get why Florida State was left out. They play in a s***** conference and didn’t really have a great resume. But there has never been an undefeated power 5 team left out of the playoffs and it’s really not fair to the kids on the team. It basically told them none of those games mattered in the end. The reason they left them out I’m assuming is because FSU’s star QB is out for the playoffs and the committee believes without Travis, they aren’t the same team that won all of those games and they’ve looked rough against some mediocre teams without Travis.
  25. Sources: Ohtani sweepstakes are moving along and the Texas Rangers and at least one team in the AL East has dropped out. Teams who feel they aren’t real players are beginning to take themselves out of talks. Update: Believe the Boston Red Sox are out, or at the very least looking elsewhere at the moment. Not surprising
