  1. That’s what Whitlock needed. A shutdown quick inning
  2. Abreu has been absolutely brutal so far
  3. Whitlock has been pretty nasty, but 60 pitches through 3 isn’t ideal
  4. A TON of pitches for Whitlock that inning
  5. Getting picked off at 2nd with 2 outs is beyond f***ing stupid. Abreu off to a rough start this season
  6. Whitlock with a very nice inning. Bit of a scare with the foul ball near homer, but striking out the side with 0 base runners is always good!
  7. I’m not really trying to defend the Red Sox bad hitting so far but the Mariners rotation is very very good.
  8. Sure, this is true, but Joely did let up a homer like 480 feet two days ago and has pretty consistently been a bad pitcher during his MLB career.. Edit: not literally 480 feet, but it was a bomb
  9. The bloop was also evened out by a 100+ MPH line drive hit right at someone. That’s baseball
  10. Nothing against Polanco, but Julio is in another league, and Julio didn’t even need a hit. There was only one out and this at least would allow a force at home. The odds of winning probably weren’t in our favor at this point regardless, but I really wouldn’t want to make Julio Rodriguez be the one to beat us.
  11. So Max, you think with a base open and the winning run on third, the right move was to pitch to one of the best players in the MLB, Julio Rodriguez, with a guy making his MLB debut and with a career ERA of 5 in the minors? Honest question
  12. He’s a s***** lefty. He literally has sucked ass majority of his career. He doesn’t belong on an MLB roster. I don’t think a single person on this board, or any Red Sox fan or even baseball fan in general would be complaining about Cora not having a Joely Rodriguez to bring in
  13. Kind of odd. Hes been swinging the bat well I can understand getting Wong a day off as catchers need it more, but Rafaela? Not making much sense.
  14. Also shoutout to the girls tournament also. Paige Bueckers for UConn has always been one of my favorite players and I’m so happy to her fully healthy after two serious knee injuries. Oh, and obviously Caitlin Clark is pretty damn good too
  15. I’m in a 10 person pool. I’m currently in first, but this Purdue/Tennesee game is huge, I have Tennessee, only guy who can catch me has Purdue
  16. This is also an issue. Cora shouldn’t even have the option to put Joely into the game. There is 0 reason he should be on the team. He is awful.
  17. But overall, this team has a lot of issues. There are multiple players who probably shouldn’t be in MLB rosters on this team. Pivetta and Crawford combined to allow 2 runs in 13 innings and Red Sox went 0-2. The Red Sox two best relievers are turning 37 and 38 and both are already battling injuries. This could be a long season.
  18. Keeping it tied becomes pretty irrelevant if you are going to rely on Joely Rodriguez and Justin Slaten to protect a lead.
  19. Even if Jansen is unavailable, that would mean Martin is the closer now, correct? Why use him in 8th inning of a tied game?
  20. He isn’t good at anything. He was horrendous last year and he for some reason essentially got guaranteed a roster spot? WHY?
  21. And why the actual f*** is Bernardino in the minors but JOELY RODRIGUEZ ON THE TEAM??!? Rodriguez is 32 and for his career has a nearly 5 ERA and a negative WAR…
