    Hey man, he gave the Red Sox a chance to win when the offense scored 13 runs, its really hard to find a pitcher these days that can do that. Then he came back with another strong performance to give the team a chance to win a game in which they scored 8 runs. There is a reason O'Sullivan is undefeated this season. Hanley is on fire.

    He was given 14 runs of support, its hard as a pitcher to not "give the team a chance to win" especially against that offense. He is still an awful pitcher. Do you really want to see more of him? Did he give the team a chance to win today? He left with a lead!

    He gave up hard hit balls the whole game and got lucky he was facing one of worst offenses in baseball in Oakland or his already s***** line would have been even worse. He still is horrible and not doing "his job" I don't care what the expectations are, if you pitch bad, when you are expected to pitch really bad, that isn't good.

    No it wasn't, he sucks. 4 runs in 6 innings is a 6 ERA, and a solid 2.00 WHIP. He was giving up bullets to guys hitting .200.. Hell today he gave up a 3 run bomb to a guy hitting .198 coming into the game. Journeyman is a nice way to describe a guy who sucks, as shown by his career 12-23 record with a career 6.00 ERA...

    No doubt. Owens, O'Sullivan, Kelly and Buchholz are not even giving the team a chance to win in a majority of their starts. Even if E-Rod comes back and pitches like last year, another pitcher is still needed IMO.

    According to people on this site O'Sullivan did a good job last start. I guess the pitching for this team is so bad we consider 6 innings with 12 hits and 4 runs a good start. HURRY THE f*** UP AND GET HEALTHY EROD
