  1. Aside from Moreland, they all hit the ball absurdly hard, not sure what more you'd want, it was just bad luck.
  2. Xander! Man the Sox are killing this guy. He's absurdly lucky its only 1-0.
  3. Wow.. Mookie and Pedroia both rip the ball for outs.
  4. Porcello decided to concede this game in 3rd inning. Awesome!
  5. The walk to Correa didn't help, and McCann missed a grand slam by a few feet, then hit a deep fly ball for a sac fly. He isn't fooling anyone. The offense is gonna need to score today.
  6. Porcello looks s***** already. Awesome/
  7. If Sox win tonight, they're tied in 1st.
  8. I know its early, but with Yankees losing to A's, Sox are only 1 game out of 1st.
  9. Definitely. I didn't think they were "weak" but one of our weakest links for sure, along with 3B. They've definitely performed better than we could've hoped. I'm really liking the way Joe Kelly is pitching, I've been calling for him to be a reliever for a while now, I'm glad it finally happened, he's been lights out. He just picked up his 3rd win and his ERA is down to 1.23..
  10. Josh Harrison can play almost any position. He's proven to be a solid 3B option. I don't think he'll come cheap though, he's a really good player who offers tons of versatility. Seager just signed a 7 year 100M deal two years, I don't see DD trading for another expensive 3B and I think Mariners would want a decent amount for Seager. Nunez is a horrible fielder and pretty meh. He's an upgrade but I don't care for him. I think most realistic option is a Plouffe or Peralta, or someone of that level, or calling up Devers. I can't see them paying for these 3B, but they also can't afford to trot this trash out there every game. I'm not saying I want either of those mediocre guys but I just think its most realistic outcome.
  11. Mookie is a stud. Bullpen (especially Kimbrel) continues to dominate Didn't see game, but looks like Pomeranz pitched well. Good s***.
  12. Can he play 3B!?!
  13. They're 8 games over .500 and have 3rd best record in AL, this with numerous injuries and for a while were forfeiting a game every 5 days with Kendrick. We can't win em all.
  14. Lets look at the positives. 3/4 isn't bad (even if it should've been 4/4).
  15. He's a problem every game. He sucks ass.
  16. Pablo is so f***ing horrible. I just WISH they'd get rid of him already.
  17. Pablo Sandoval is the Sox last hope. Good night guys
  18. And they're gonna lose this game. Unacceptable to score 0 f***ing runs against this team.
  19. This hitting is really pathetic. Horrible AB's by Pedroia and Xander.
  20. Can we please f***ing score some runs
  21. Butterfield sent him, Phillies announcers were mentioning he made the decision to send him. John Kruk also noted the Red Sox have had 28 base runners thrown out on the base paths attempting to advance an extra base, which is by far the most in the league, I think he said next closest was 18
  22. I just can't convince myself that Smith will be a big time contributor this year. He's coming off a serious injury and we don't know if he'll be the same person. If he could come back, that would be awesome, but I still think we need another depth piece for the pen.
  23. There has been a lot of talk about this teams rotation, but there somehow hasn't been a thread on the bullpen. The Bullpen was supposed to be one of the weaknesses of this team, especially after the Carson Smith and Thornburg injuries, but they've actually been really good. Kimbrel is having a dominant season, Joe Kelly has been elite set up man, Robby Scott has been fantastic, Matt Barnes has mostly been good (despite a few hiccups), and even Hembree has been okay as a middle reliever.. s***, I can remember at least two games where Fernando Abad pitched 2+ innings and got a W in extra innings, he's even been really good. I never thought Blaine Boyer would be a solid contributor, I didn't even know he was still in league, much less in Bostons organization, but he's actually given the team some big innings lately also. Looks like the pen has actually been a strength. I still think we could use at least one more solid arm, as I'm not sure what to expect of Scott in his 1st full MLB season, and Barnes and Hembree tend to be inconsistent and prone to meltdowns. I don't think we need an elite arm, but something similar to last years acquisition of Ziegler to sure up the back end.
  24. Peralta and Plouffe were both DFA, so they should't cost much of anything at all, so might as well take a chance on at least one of them, its low risk.
