  1. Its been a month. JBJ has consistently been an above average player throughout his career. Judging him and calling him below average based off 1 month of a season isn't a fair assessment of how good he is.
  2. Remember when people thought Mookie was going to struggle due to the pressure of a contract coming and complained about his prolonged slump? Good times.
  3. There is a reason I don’t have many complaints about Steve Pearce this season, he’s been awful, but I give him a break due to what’s happened in playoffs lol.
  4. Even as the biggest JBJ fan, there is no way he deserves $10+ mill a year. He should get around Jarrod Dyson money.
  5. Castillo will never play in Boston due to his contract and the ramifications calling him up would have.
  6. JBJ is never as bad as he is when slumping, or as good as he is during his hot streaks. He’s frustrating and inconsistent but he isn’t THIS bad. He’ll likely finish the year as he does, inconsistent bat, good glove, overall helps the team.
  7. I’ve asked numerous times and no one has an answer. If we do trade/release JBJ, what’s the better option? If you think JBJ sucks, you can’t be expecting much in trade. Is the plan to release him and have JD full time in OF? You want Nunez out there? Someone on a different team? Who we trading for him? Not like we have many prospects worth dealing.
  8. Trading Mookie Betts to free up money for bullpen money would be one of the dumbest f***ing things you could do.
  9. Lin is seeing how many ways he can reach base without a hit
  10. Christian Vazquez just got intentionally walked. Okay
  11. He's one of the most irrationally hated players in recent memory. Even when he's doing good people will hate on something he's doing.
  12. Pedroia is pretty exciting these days
  13. What the hell is Lin doing on 1B?
  14. Lin has been on base twice and has had two horrible ABs. Go baseball
  15. Michael Chavis is pretty good
  16. Xander has been good too. Don’t want to take away from him
  17. Mookie Betts and JD Martinez are both still good... rest of team... not so much
  18. Mookie is so bad. He can’t handle the pressure of the looming contract he’ll get in free agency!
  19. Now in 2019 Red Sox fashion. Mookie will hit a rocket right at someone for a DP.
  20. Sox may get a break here, I'm not sure there is enough evidence to show Montas was on the bag.
  21. I'm not even sure the whole Red Sox infield gets Chapman, he is really f***ing good.
  22. Moreland had a hot two weeks, he's been horrible since then. Pearce has been one of worst position players in the MLB since being activated. 1B/2B are literally negatives for this team and we all know our catchers are weak hitters. Devers hasn't been bad, but not great either, and his errors, both mentally and physically have been hurting the team. Kimmi's point about JBJ isn't that he isn't struggling, but that he is expected to be one of the weak hitters, he hits 8th in the lineup for a reason. He's in the lineup for his elite defense, and what he adds offensively is gravy. However, this year, with the whole team besides about 4 guys looking awful at the plate, it is making JBJ look even worse. I get the frustrations with JBJ, I really do, but releasing him/giving him away while his value is this low does nothing to help the team. Who do you want to start over JBJ? We don't have many assets to trade for another OF, don't have many options on the current roster or in the minors that are ready.
