  1. Rocco = another failed Theo experiment. I hope he gets fired.
  2. Love the Kelvin and Hobbes Avatar.
  3. I do not hate him - I appreciate what he has done for us in the past. He simply does not have a place in this team otherthan back-up catcher ( generally back-up catchers have better defense with similar offense). It is not about him - I hate paying anyone for past performances.
  4. So Why is AL teams are way better than NL teams and pitchers like Smoltz and Penny look like Aces in NL?
  5. When did Theo last make a good trade or free agent sign? As much credit he gets for homegrown player development ( should he?) - he has totally sucked as a GM. 2006 - Red Sox season failed becuase they did not get Abreau and Lidle from the Phillies - and let the Yankees get them. Theo then said "We are not the Yankees". Next off-season he signed Lugo and Drew to ridiculous contracts. From WMP to Gagne - he has done one mistake after another but still gets a free pass from the Sox fans. He has failed the Sox multiple times and lost to the Yankees from Damon to Texiera. When he has won ( Matsuzaka) - his move did not pan out. The only trade that has benifited the Sox since 2004 is Becket + Lowell and I think if Theo was in charge - we do not make that trade. Get rid of Theo now and throw out Tito as well. We need to do complete rebuild.
  6. Call me crazy - if Papa Jack is with us WMP will be playing for the Red Sox now. Magadan was a looser in San Diego - I don't know why we appointed him. Papa Jack was the scapegoat for injury ridden 2006 season - that's all. The offensive down-slide pretty much started with the appointment of Magadan - not a co-incidence.
  7. Bring back Papa Jack.
  8. This team reminds me of 2009 Mets. Only worse - because Mets have most of their starting line-up on DL while this team has most regular position players playing. So this team will not get any better.
  9. Do not take it in a wrong sense - but don't you work? I see you here all the time. I do not get much chance to post - luckily I am working from home today.
  10. In theory yes. But practically it is impossible. Because unfortunately performers are Primadonna players whom a team needs to win. The trick is managing the Primadonna players so they can keep their act off the field.
  11. You are intentionally interpreting it the wrong way. I am saying go for the performers - you are saying go for the cancers. In any profession - a skilled person will come up with a baggage. The only guy who will not give any problem is someone with little and less ability - because he knows the rope is little for him. It is the job of a manager to manage egos - I thought Tito is one of the best in doing that? Unlike Football - baseball is more of a sport of individual players and not the team. Our team will not compete unless they get the best performers and keep them happy.
  12. Noone likes to be associated with loosers. Not the players - not even the fans. I understand that you might have diff. opinion - but that's how most people will feel.
  13. When acquiring a player - all a GM should care about is performance on the field. So if I were a GM - I will gladly take A-Rod if his performance does not get impacted by his diva act of the field. Winning is the best medicine. The players with the best of attitude become toxic in a loosing environment.
  14. I won't - he has shown great promises - but not the consistency to be compared to Doc Halladay yet.
  15. Time to move past trade deadline and talk waivers. Reagrding another OF - I wonder if the Nats will put Dunn on waivers and we get a chance to get him. I am still a big Dunn fan and was hoping they will make a run at him after they failed to get Tex. Considering Ortiz's decline and Bay is almost out of the door - I will not mind signing Dunn at all in long term. Dunn will be a good replacement for Manny at least in terms of power ( unfortunately - also may be in terms of outfield defense). Again - Power is a big need of this team in post Manny/Ortiz era - we are just hoping Lars pans out and he is not making any splash this year. Anything else we might be interested in? I think a 4th/5th starter will be nice - but not sure if we will get anything good.
  16. They are handing out offensive player of the week award? Is this a joke?
  17. This needs a thread?
  18. Our offensive porwer is now same as that of the Mets. Question is how much will we slide in standing.
  19. The Ranger anouncer said 'Big Pop-up' . That was the pop-up from our Big Papi. I tht that was funny.
  20. Tek has been 1 of the pleasant surprise this year - I told you before.
  21. Absolutely - specially when FO and fan base refuses to acknowledge the problem.
  22. I am surprised there is even a debate that Tex is making a huge difference between standing. I mean you can argue if Tex deal will be good in long term - this year he is making all the difference.
