Rotoworld : I will do Salty for Ellsbury myself. The Red Sox have inquired about the Rangers' catching situation, according to the Dallas Morning News. Coco Crisp for Gerald Laird would make sense, as would Jacoby Ellsbury for Jarrod Saltalamacchia. It's doubtful the latter has been seriously discussed, but the former might have been. The Red Sox could ask for a little more in return (Engel Beltre, the third player they gave up for Eric Gagne at the deadline, is someone they'd probably like to have back), but it wouldn't be an awful deal as a one-for-one. Laird would serve as Jason Varitek's backup for a year and then become a candidate to start in 2009. Source: Dallas Morning News

I like Kazmir signing more than Santana. But again - we had real bad experience dealing with Tampa. The best part if we get him is we will no longer will have to face him - he has been a pain in the ass for last couple of years.

Dodgers acquiring Torre should not help the case of A-Rod joining them per Heyman. He always seems to have inside track for Boras client - I believe he broke the news that A-Rod will opt out. Misc. injury reports from rotoworld: David Ortiz is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery to repair his right knee on Tuesday. The surgery will fix a slight tear Ortiz has in the meniscus cartilage. He should only a need a few weeks to recover from the procedure. An MRI Friday revealed that RHP Tim Wakefield has a small tear in his right labrum, but he won't need surgery to repair it. Wakefield, who just had his 2008 club option picked up by the Red Sox, should be able to begin his offseason conditioning program in early December, as scheduled

Did not Damon say he will never go to the Yankees? I don't think anyone in RSN called him a fraud before he took the Yankee offer.They are professional baseball player - I kinda get it that he is not mother Teresa. I disagree with all of you that A-Rod is all about money - maybe Boras is all about money. If it is only money - A-Rod will at least listen to the big offer Cashman was piling for him. He could have always opted out later. A-Rod needs a little love - he needs to be 'the guy' in the clubhouse. Yeah - he will get paid - but he will not make more than if he would have stayed with Yankees considering endoresement etc.
