  1. I don't want to see Buchholz make another start for the Sox. Time to cut his ass. I'm done. I'm beyond done. I was done years ago. Enough of this!
  2. I just noticed others using TOTR. Don't really mind either way, so long as we all know what it means. I think sending Clay to the DL would be the best choice as well. Either way, Wright shouldn't go anywhere, nor should Kelly if he continues to pitch well once the time comes.
  3. They were asking the question if Wright should be the man out. The problem with Clay is that he can't really be trusted in the pen, but there's really no other options if they are to take him out of the rotation. So the other options were Kelly, since he would be a much better fit coming out of the pen, or Wright. I agree that Buccholz is the guy who should lose his job, whether it means going to the pen or just getting cut. He simply isn't ever going to put it together to be a consistent, TOTR kind of guy, and his injury history makes him basically useless as a middle/back of the rotation pitcher.
  4. The really issue was that Buccholz is honestly the most deserved to lose the spot in the rotation once E-Rod is back... but no one wants to see him in the pen. Maybe in mop up duty, but no way in hell would he be trusted coming in with men on base. And can he even be sent down to the minors? Honestly, I might just cut him already. I'm done with him!
  5. They were discussing it on weei this afternoon after the Smith injury and inevitability of E-Rod returning. They basically were curious who should be put in the pen.
  6. I've heard talk of moving someone, maybe Wright to the pen to replace Smith. No way Wright should go anywhere. Replace Smith in the pen with someone else. Wright deserves the 3/4 spot in the rotation. Just the innings alone are too valuable to go into the pen. It's going to be interesting to see what happens once E-Rod is ready to go. Obviously adding another TOTR pitcher would be ideal for a playoff run, but I'm not really willing to part with Bogaerts, JBJ, or Betts, and it might just cost too much in prospects otherwise. Tough decisions, but damn am I happy with this offense!
  7. Since when isn't drinking involved with watching baseball? (or dinner... lunch... ah hell, a breakfast stout with breakfast, why not). I'm not an alcoholic...
  8. Dead on! Some of my favorite moments of past teams was when they would intentionally walk Ortiz only to have Manny hit the go-ahead homerun. So sweet. Such fun teams.
  9. WTF, Mookie comparison to Elvis with his upper lip? WTF are you talking about Eck? I love ya, but sometimes you really make me scratch my head!
  10. Come on Price, quite throwing junk down the middle. Even though it's only been 1 run, too many pitches getting too much off the plate tonight. Dangerous.
  11. For the Boston Braves, it's 37 games from Tommy Holmes in '45 (37 games). For the Red Sox, it's Dom DiMaggio in '49 (34 games)
  12. Apparently it's 24 games, just edited. (JBJ hit streak that is)
  13. 24 game hit streak, oh my Bradley!
  14. JBJ is on another planet right now! Unreal.
  15. I wonder what the redsox record is for consecutive double-digit scores
  16. Well, now everyone has a hit! 17 base runners and it's not even the end of the 5th yet! wow
  17. JBJ might be the hottest bat in the majors right now!
  18. According to fangraphs, Price has a 1.0 WAR right now. Pretty sure their calculations are messed up right now (Wright and Porcello's also don't seem right at all)
  19. PAPI!!!! What a beast!!!!! Does he really have to retire?
  20. Apparently 16 BB for a single PITCHER has been done in a single game before. (Tom Byrne in 1951 had 16 BB in 12.2 innings). When ever I see stat lines for pitchers way back in the early 20th century with like a 12 ERA, 28 BB, over just 14 IP, it really puts the legends like Ruth in perspective. I really wonder if the Babe could even make in the majors in todays game. He could very well be a Panda!
  21. I think the baseball Gods messed up which day Clay was pitching... Oh look at that, strikes and a good fastball.
  22. Does anyone actually like the 8pm Sunday games?
  23. OK, he did just pull a DiceK there!
