7. Can Josh Beckett make the adjustment? It isnt the adjustment, can he keep his curveball from cutting his fingers.
Jackson, he didn't have blister problems because of his curve ball. Have you ever had the pleasure to pitch in Southern FL? I did when I was in High school, and after a 6 inning outting my middle finger was a bloody blister mess. The Blister problem stems from the hi humidity and precipitation in that area. You don't even have to warm up in that weather, you can stand there and sweat. Beckett in his first yr out of FL had no blister problems last yr and pitched over 200 innings for the first time. He didn't throw his curve ball because he was trying to blow fastballs past everyone, but as we all now that s*** might float in the NL East but Not in the AL East.
Besides the Playoffs Beckett has pretty much played in a lower level division/compatition or the old AAAA argument, if this is true then why not look at Beckett last yr as a rookie, Just for argument sake. We will consider his time in FL AAAA training, and last yr was his first yr in the real big leagues, 16 wins isn't bad at all, we got 200+ innings out of him and he pitched the most of any of our pitchers. The only thing that wasn't great was the 5.01 ERA. But in this argument we thinking of Beckett as a rookie and those wouldn't be bad numbers at all. I'm just throwing it out there cause I was reading somewhere else where someone was making this argument.
