  1. Damn Pedro had a kid when he was 16?LOL
  2. Is he a guy we should expect to hear about towards the end of Lugo's contract as being the teams next big league SS?
  3. My girlfriend has a pair he could wear, nice and rainbowy with individual toes!LOL I don't think we will hear much about Clemens pitching for the Sox until it gets a little closer to when he is actually going to come back. yes we have a good rotation now but you never know what will happen, if someone is sucking ass or is hurt then I would imagine the Sox making a bigger push for him then right now.
  4. That is a pretty sweet idea, might even make it worth going to see a Dodgers game..... and then again maybe not:)
  5. That guy was the biggest "Goon"of all time hahahahahaha. Now I want to watch it but im in Holland and they probably never heard of it!LOL
  6. Slap Shot... One of the greatest sports movies of all time.
  7. Yes Bonds was a sure fire 1st ballot HOF before all this s*** happened. It's been said he started taking the roids around the time Mcgwire and Sosa had the hole country in the palm of there hands with the HR numbers. He started taking them so he too could hit bombs like that and get the attention back on him, because when Sammy and Mark where hitting those couple of seasons Bonds was an after thought. It just goes to show you he is a "I'm the center of the universe"type of moron. He would do himself a favor by just leaving the game. He will only make it worse if he trys for Hammering Hanks record. I might just be saying that because I really dislike him. But in all fairness we can just burn Barry at the stake and no one else. During this supposed "steriod era" it's been reported that a huge portion of ball players where using, everyday players, utility guys, SP,RP you name it there was someone probably doing it. I hate to say it but at this time in baseball the playing field was probably about as level as you could ever expect. If the pitcher throwing the ball was juicing, the ball was juiced and the guy hitting the ball was juiced isn't that just about the same as nobody juicing at all? Baseball and it's owners and everyone involved knew what was going on, but the game was back, the fans where back at the park with there familys watching our national past time. Thats all anyone cared about at the time not knowing what the consequenses for these actions would be. Then Jose canseco didn't just throw people under the bus, he drove it. What he did was really low, after he was done in the game and no one wanted his swing and miss and fall down like a ballerina swing on there team anymore, he decided that he would make his money another way. He didn't care about the game like he proclaimed, he did it because it was big money and kept him in the spot light. But as a society we bought right into what he was selling, because lets face as a soceity( americans) we love our gossip and witch hunts. Everyone acted shocked and appauled when the steriod issue became public, but people lets be honest with ourselves, if you didn't think Canseco was on roids during his hay day then well you probably still beleive in the tooth fairy. The guy was the size of a linebacker and could have been a stunt double for Arnold in Terminator 2. There where alot of players who you could look at and tell the where doing something, Brady Anderson? Please that guy couldn't hit 50 hrs in Wiffel ball before that one season. But nobody cared, we like the offensive explosion, it brought the game back to life. But know people want to act as tho the have a conscience, and label some as cheaters. If everyone was cheating then it's really not cheating anymore is it? What happened, happened, theres nothing we can do about it now. But unless they know every player that was using during that period, I can't label guys like Mcgwire, and Sosa cheaters. I think the best thing for baseball is to just focus on the now, Steroids are illegal now and if you get busted on them now you should pay the price. I honestly think in a few years we will look back and suspect many players of using HGH. Yes it inhances your performance but, is not illegal. I don't know what to think of it, i'm still on the fence. I mean if using a natural substance that inhances your muscles and performance is ok. I mean when they first came to be used whenever it was, where the players thought of to be cheating? And therefore there stats they put up where false? Should a player that takes care of his body but eating right, lifting weights and all that be punished and his numbers questioned against say a guy who smoked, ate un healthy foods like Babe Ruth? If it's really the numbers , stats and records everyone is worried about it makes no sense. Is it a players fault for using the knowledge of his time to his advantage? Unless we outlaw weight lifting, healthy eating, training, and supplements, we will never really be able to compare numbers of players today to the players of yester year. If any of these guys make the HOF, there should be no note by there stats saying(steriod era or whatever), all these gys did was take a form of technology and use it to there advantage, same as anyone else would probably do, especially knowing it could make you millions upon millions of dollars and set your family for the next few generations. If your a mail man, and find a pill thta helps you get your routes done faster and that leads to a better life for your family, 9 out of 10 people would most likely do it. Sorry for the rant everyone, but with all the steroid talk I figured I'd chime in.
  8. Here's a question, say Clement comes back, shows he can throw decently without his arm falling off on the mound, what teams out there would take a shot on him? Mets rotation sucks, so does DC, Texas is weak, come to think of it probably most teams in the NL would probably take a look or atleast kick the tires.
  9. If the Sox eat most of his salary, he could definately be a throw in on a trade or sent for a low level minor leaguer to a team that is willing to take a chance on him so that they might get some pitching depth. But for this all to happen he will have to get into some games before the trade deadline, mid June by the latest, to have atleast a month to show he can throw a pitch. I don't really care what happens to him, I only mention a trade so that it wasn't a complete waste of 24M. And if the Diamondbacks will give up 4 players, eat most the salary and sign RJ to a contract extension coming off of back surgery, then I'm sure theres a team out there that would give up a mid level prospect or take on Clement in a package deal.
  10. So you admit in your above statement that Wang rely's on the NYY lineup to win him games? You blamed them for his loss. So inturn he must not be that good. Game 1 of the ALDS is the most non- pressure playoff game to pitch in. Yes of course there is certain pressure but compared to any other of the 4 games is nothing. Pitch in a game where your down in the series, or pitch in an elimination game, either it be your team will be gone with a loss or move on with a win. Those are the pressure cookers. Game 7 of the ALCS is by far the most pressure you can have in any game. When he gets into that situations, see how he does then you can say he does or does not respon well to pressure. He does have the best sinker tho, I will go with you there, but don't compare someone elses with his. His is a power pitch, most other players use a sinker as a movement pitch that is between an offspeed and a power pitch. Don't get me wrong I think hes a good pitcher, but for me hes still unproven.
  11. Bonds is the biggest ass in baseball, his back will flame up next because of all the people hes throwing under the bus to try and make himself look better. If Mcgwire can't get into the Hall ol Barryroid won't see the insides either unless hes a paying customer. I wish the stupid bastard would just retire and disappear.
  12. I don't care if he ever pitches for the Sox again, but if we could pick up a minor leaguer or package him in a deal then atleast we get something out of him and it wouldn't be a complete waste.
  13. Four of the players (Craig Hansen, Kason Gabbard, David Murphy and David Pauley) tasted at least a cameo with the Red Sox last season. The other eight (Nick Debarr, George Kottaras, Clay Buchholz, Kyle Jackson, Edgar Martinez, Chad Spann, Jacoby Ellsbury and Brandon Moss) are viewed to be reasonably close to making their Major League debuts. How do the prospects get selected? "It's a fairly loose criterion," said Hazen. "We didn't do the program last year, so there were some guys who may have been candidates to come last year that we sort of condensed into this year, too. I think the expectation is guys who are within an 18-month timeframe to get to the big leagues. It's not just for rookies. It's for guys that we want to help ease the transition not only to the big leagues, but for the guys that are here to stay." I was kind of surprised to see some of these names as considered as 18 months or less away, I have the feeling even tho it might be not such a good idea, that if Bucholz has a decent year this year in the minors he he will be battling for 1 of the 2 rotation spots that will be open after this season.
  14. Good Luck Murcer, God Speed!
  15. Manny,Pedro,Ortiz where awesome to watch. Paps and Beckett are my Favorite pitchers to watch on the sox.(Bard is the one Minor leaguer I can't wait to see). Guys I like to watch Pitch: Burnett,Zambrano,Santanna,Liriano,Pettite(even when on the NYY, I like watching him pitch, unless against the Sox),Smoltz,D-Train Everyday players: Reyes( that boy was fast as lightning), Ichiro,Griffey(Seattle career),Pujols,Ryan Howard( i'm really hoping this guy is the real deal and is doing everything fairly, and hope he beats Bonds record so we can forget about Bonds). Thats good for now.
  16. Our best hope is if he gets in before the trade deadline, shows he can throw without his arm falling off and package him up at the trade deadline. Thats best case scenario.
  17. TO Peyton Manning Dan Marino Champ Bailey Buffalo Bills Bill Romanowski Kobe Ron Arrtest ( actually any B-ball player that thinks hes a gang bangin bad ass mo fo) To add another to baseball, Matsui, for some reason this guy just flat at annoys me, I'm not sure if its his good looks(he should have to wear a samari mask, talk about RJ having a face only a mother could love), good player I just like to see him drilled everytime he is up:)
  18. Bonds( the size of his head annoys me) Boggs(NYY version) Carl Everett(would have been dealing crack, but he could hit a fastball occasionly) Albert Belle(Corked or un-corked, never liked him) Gooden and Strawberry( for being complete waste's) Sheffield(prick) Black Jack Mcdowell(tool) Thats all I can think of now, maybe more later.
  19. OMG! HAHAHAHAHA..... That is so harsh..... but extemely funny:thumbsup:
  20. Jackson has been foaming at the mouth since the first big unit trade rumors came out. Talking about all the prospects they where going to get back for unit( the two big ones they didnt get, nippert and O something cant think of it) and saying how the NYY where best suited now with the plethra of pitching prospects to turn around at the trade deadline or next off season and send them packing for MINNY for Johan. They have a better shot at D-Train( I would rather they get none of them:) ) But any chances of anyone let alone the NYY getting Johan is remote now, its all in his hands. BTW nice clause in the contract, makes him seem like he wants to stay in MINNY and protected himself from being dealt to just any organization.
  21. Theres no way to tell how well Clement will beable to do, he might come back strong after surgery, possibly go back to the NL and be a good 3 or 4(prolly a 5) or he could be completely worthless and go quietly into the night. I think he be better off to learn to pitch LH! LOL
  22. No there hasn't been any talk of them dealing him. It's Jackson's hopes and dreams that he was going to be available, and that the NYY would send everything they just got int he Sheffield/Johnson trades to get Johan. So much for your grand plan Jackson, Johan will not be traded unless he wants to be, the only way other teams are going to beable to get him is paying threw the nose in FA. I have said all along I think he stays in MINNY if they remain competitive. There opening a new stadium soon, and will want all the ticket selling names they can get.
  23. Maybe if the DNA in it is Ben Sheets and we can clone him, then it's a deal:thumbsup:
