I know they have other guys to fill in. But if Wake is hurting and can't go, I wouldn't mind seeing Pedro get a shot at the rotation.
Let me also say that I understand it's the AL East. And that he is probably no a 30 start pitcher anymore. And his outting was against the Netherlands(BTW tooting my own horn but the Pitcher Smits for the Netherlands, I have a .500 AVG against,(2 for 4) room mate is 4 for 5:thumbsup:) But I don't know if any of you watch the WBC game, he looked strong. His fastball from the eyeball test(no radar gun on broadcast) seemed lively, with plenty on it. His breaking and off speed stuff looked sharp. And you guys know me, I don't get to overly gushy about emotions usually, but it look as if there is still some fire left in Pedro. He looked pumped out there. So it made me think he might be worth a shot. Especially if Penny and Wake are potential Implosions.
I don't usually go for the Nostalgic side of things, but I have to admit, there would be a certain amount of happiness to see #45 on the mound again. Also the return of the atmosphere that Pedro brought to Fenway would be pretty cool.
