  1. New decade next year Dojji. Join us in the now.
  2. Don't lump all of us in with the knuckle dragging mouth breathers. A lot of us have offered genuine congratulations. BTW has anyone heard from a700? I'm afraid he might have had a stroke or heart attack after watching the festivities last night.
  3. Matsui is gone. he may have made himself a large contract for the future, but I doubt it's in NY. The Yankees need to free up the DH spot. Matsui won't help that. He's in SF, Seattle or some where like that next season IMO.
  4. I can't wait to get his reaction hahaha:lol:
  5. The Lakers say "hello"
  6. Listen if it's my personal choice the re-sign him. But if it's going to take a CC type contract to do it, I can see why some would be hesitant. So let's play the "Comparable contract" game, Player A(NL&AL) (2001-2009) 106-68 3.79 ERA 228 games 1401.1 IP 1280 hits 641/590 R/ER 426 BB 1330 K 1.22 WHIP Player B(NL&AL) 1999-2009) 100-85 3.84 ERA 244 Games 1583.1 IP 1392 Hits 744/676 R/ER 665 BB 1473 K 1.30 WHIP Player C(NL) 2001-2009 105-68 3.51 ERA 259 games 1551.1 IP 1313 Hits 669/605 R/ER 698 BB 1324 K 1.30 WHIP I would say those players are comparable. This would lead me to believe Becketts next contract will probably fall between 15-18M. Which I could get on board for. Here's what I would offer, 2010- 11M,2011- 13M, 2012- 15.5M, 2013- 16.5M, 2014- 18.5M, Vesting option for 19.5M for 2015. So it comes out to a 1M more on top of his original raise for 2010. Then 4 yrs 74.5M in extension money, with an obtainable option(or just guarantee it) of 19.5M, making the whole deal 5 years 94M, which is a fair deal IMO.
  7. I went to bed before the game ended, it was like almost 4 am here. Not surprised by the outcome. Listen flat out, congratulations on your WS victory Yankees fans, enjoy it. That's right, no back handed comments, no tongue and cheek, just a genuine congratulations. I hate the fact the Yankees won, but I honestly don't feel the hate or bitterness like I used to. I guess winning a couple ourselves cures a lot. Finally we can get going on this stupid 10 day count down until we get some off season action
  8. He can't see that far ahead. His vision is affected from the lack of blood in his brain, due to the 24/7 erection he's currently walking around with... There's about 50M coming off the books at my quick count, plus Tek and Agon if they are brought back next season.
  9. What?!?! You mean he didn't come out and give all his leverage away by saying " I would be willing to take a home town discount to stay in Boston? That's insanity... WTF Jacko really? What the hell do you expect him/his agent to say? I'll throw this out there, depending on how negotiations go, and who else is brought in, if the Sox can't get a deal done we might see Beckett shopped for the right deal. I figure it's only fair to bring up this point because most of us bring up certain players as trade bait when they are in the final year(s) of their deal and haven't reached an extension yet.
  10. Well yes of course it's a big if. I wasn't trying to suggest they do grow on trees. That would be ridiculous. The branches would never hold the wait I know Young Aces aren't readily available, but you never know who could be available for the right package. The whole Beckett topic is an interesting one. The Sox could extend him this off season, they could trade him possibly in a block buster, or they could just ride him out until the end of the year, offer him a deal and if it's not enough let him walk. Should make for an interesting storyline.
  11. If the Sox get a young ace I could see them letting him walk after 2010. I love the guy to and he's one of my all time favorites(I had the oppurtunity to get him pitch a lot in the minors), but the above mentioned concerns have some merit. If he will sign for AJ(who he compares a little more too, Beckett having more playoff experience) money instead of CC/Santana money then maybe he's back. But I would imagine someone from his home state of Texas will make a very big push for him. I can honestly see Texas giving him 5 yrs 100M at least. Especially since they are competitive now and Millwood is gone after next season.
  12. F them lol I like it!
  13. Sign Bedard. Wake first half, Bedard 2nd half. If Bedard isn't ready, #5 SP aren't too hard to get at the TDL. Plus you have( at this point in time) Tazawa and Bowden that could get some starts. Could always see if Pedro wants to make about 10-12 starts too
  14. Great post. I agree Melky being on the Yankees provokes an instant biased first opinion for me personally. So maybe it be better to wait until he isn't on the Yankees anymore I am glad to finally see someone else recognizing what Ellsbury is. I took some lumps last season when backing him. I was called crazy for thinking the Sox should not try and upgrade the CF position. Ellsbury is coming into his own IMO. I think this guy has very under rated power, that I think will make itself more present down over the next couple seasons. Que Kilo to come in and start the Ells hating It's his way of putting a nice little bow on top of things You know this man:thumbsup:
  15. Probably right now it is. If the Yankees lose, then they can have the title for awhile
  16. Any of those teams spend 480 Million dollars in the off season? Or have as high of expectations as this club? If this Yankee club loses this series, it will easily be the biggest WS choke ever. And it's not even debatable IMO.
  17. I'm fine with that. I think Ells is the better player also. I was just commenting they put up similar lines this year is all. I don't think Melky is that great of a player to be honest. And I thing the yanks would be quick to replace him as soon as someone better becomes available. But he put up a decent line this season. Whether that be because of his home park and or the lineup he hits in is up for debate:D
  18. I'm not the one who came up with it. I believe I saw it first from Dipre(props). Dipre, if you take a look at the numbers, yes Ellsbury leads in most categories, but it's not like it's by leaps and bounds except for SB'S and BA, but you and I both don't turn to BA to hold much water in arguments. Stating these players are comparable at the plate is reasonable. Yes he is. His next contract will make it very obvious lol
