  1. With Saito and Wagner gone and MDC not pitching up to par(at least at the end of last season), would Lindstrom be someone the Sox should be considering? I can't Imagine he will cost a lot. Could be a nice low risk/high reward type a thing.
  2. I thought you were talking IF's(1B/2B ). OF I would totally agree you would have probably one of the better views.
  3. Yes I'm sure your view from RF Bleachers is the best view of how good a defensive player someone is. And being there is much better then the high definition slow mo replays that I can watch over and over again...
  4. Actually I think you come here because it's cheaper then paying some dominatrix to ball and gag you and call you bitch while she drives her high heel boot into your nuts. But that's just my take on things
  5. Please be Wolf LOL He will get eaten alive in the AL East IMO.
  6. I really think all this could mean is that if there was to be a trade, we may just be more surprised at some of the names heading back to the Padres.
  7. I kinda like it. It can't be as bad as the Japan road trip. No road trip ever could top that, that s*** was unmerciful.
  8. Also I wanted to add that no way in hell Boras gets 10M a year for Beltre now. Figgins signing at 9M per totally F'd that.
  9. Maybe, it will depend on his knee though. Like I said in the Strasburg thread, I have a couple friends that work for the Nationals. And they both said in different conversations that Strasburg's knee is worse then what they are letting out. And it would be a semi miracle for him to be ready to go at the beginning of the season. And if he starts the season late I don't see him making the ML team this year. But that's just what I think Take from it what you will, I'm only sharing what I was told
  10. Not surprising he turned down a reunion with Oakland. Having a chance to win seems to be worth something to him. But really who would actually want to sign with Oakland if you had any other choice?
  11. Well it's not like they are going to come out and say " Yup we gotta move him and move him now, we have no choice"... Would it be better to Trade Miggy and sign Verlander long term? Or keep Miggy and trade Verlander? I'm not saying they can't do both, but the last part of the article did seem to leave it open to possibility. It's probably more if they can get rid of Granderson and/or jackson they will be able to make Verlander an offer. And if they can't he will have to wait.
  12. It's the same reason a deal is less likely to get done. Theo isn't going to be able to fool him(unless he knew Hoyer would be up for a GM job and fed him BS all year LOL). Hoyer knows who Theo covets and values and is less likely to trade. The only question is, is there enough after those coveted players to get a deal done? That is what the deal will hinge on IMO. If there is then a deal is probably very likely, and if not the talks will end very quickly.
  13. Seems how we tend to give RH hitters the benefit of the doubt, would it be that far of a stretch to think Scutaro could take the same advantages? I mean he plays half his game at Fenway now, and will probably hit 9th(no pressure), in a lineup that can offer him protection(if the Sox manage to add a LF of course). I don't think it's that hard to believe he could put up a .270/.360./.410ish line, which would be really nice out of the 9 spot. He'll be good for 10-15 HR and 30+ 2B. If he can manage that and play average defense it's a win for the Sox. If he put's a up a .250/.330/.380 with league average D he will be tolerable. I mean it is only 5.5M a season. That really isn't much at all.
  14. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20091204&content_id=7755454&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb Wow. Nice move by Seattle. 4 years 36M is what the article states.
  15. What exactly does he have to do at the plate this year to appease everyone's distaste fro him?
  16. His first name is "Tug"... I mean c'mon
  17. I don't disagree. I would be open for him getting a chance to be the utility guy. I just like busting your chops now and then;)
  18. Of course you don't. He ranks about a 4/5 on the "Dojjita" scale.
  19. The butt-hurt going around about Scutaro is ridiculous
  20. That's what i figure as well, but if it gets late and he isn't signed they should definitely look into him. I believe he plays 2B/SS/3B/OF. That's a lot of versatility along with a good bat. Also the reasons he probably gets a starting gig somewhere:D
  21. And the Sox sign Scutaro. End thread. Exit stage right.
  22. I think the Sox are smart to let Saito go now. Let's all remember how big of a concern this guys arm was. Most of us who liked the signing of Saito last off season weren't convinced he could go a full season. SCM c'mon man what's with all the hate? it's not like they let ramon Ramirez walk or something And also according to fangraphs, JD drew has out played his contract so far(42M actual salary, fangraphs value his last 3 seasons at 45M). Don't let his casual nature fool you. And don't let his ability to make a tough play look utterly routine. Drew is a solid player for this club.
