  1. As far as all the ridiculous baiting going on around here. I'll say this, there is a reason you don't wrestle with a pig in the mud. You both wind up getting dirty, but the pig likes it...
  2. Is this really going to come up anytime Dipre and Emmz appear to be on the same side of an discussion/issue? It's like being in JR. High with some of you.
  3. Jacoby makes a lot of "flashy" "memorable" plays. This is why he won. I don't see a reason to delve any deeper then that. As far as Pujols vs Hanley availability goes, it's hands down Hanley. Neither player should be available obviously. But we all know how Florida operates. Joba vs Buchholz- If Joba goes to the pen it's probably a draw. It all depends on what you prefer I would guess. Decent to good SP(Buchholz could be great, but let's be fair, he still needs to do it), or lights out BP work(which we have seen Joba give already). If They are both SP, I give the nod to Buchholz.
  4. Let's try not to reach too far mate
  5. Not sure there are many quality starters(FA's) who I would want to give contracts to come pitch in the AL East. I was hoping the Sox would bring in Sheets on a 1 year deal. But unless Wake is going to the BP, Buchholz gets traded or someone comes up lame, I doubt the Sox add another SP IMO.
  6. I doubt the ownership change has anything to do with the hold up. It's only 3M for next season.
  7. She has one of those cute slender back sides. Not saying she has a "Kardashian" ass or anything
  8. He will most likely sign long term with them. Retire? Not sure. Too many unforseen variables down the road.
  9. If he puts together a huge FA season together this year then probably yes. Right now he is probably looking at a Lackey/AJ deal IMO.
  10. Cleveland is young and in transition KC is KC Detroit is selling off talent CWS are bringing talent in Minnesota will be there like they usually are Not the worst division, but certainly not the best.
  11. Cross that bridge when they get there. Pujols has a 2011 option I believe.
  12. My top choice is Felipe Lopez. But I'm pretty sure he will find a starting gig somewhere.
  13. What about Bill Hall? I'm just throwing some names around really.
  14. I agree he may have f'd himself here. SF I believe is willing to offer 5 years. But from what I read, Bay has no interest in playing there for some reason.
  15. This is what I'm thinking. Maybe not this off season, but I can see the Sox dangling Buchholz for a bat now. But if they stand pat with what they have now, they should be competitive in the AL.
  16. You forget the reason they are going Defense/pitching is because of the lack of availability of "marquee" bats. Miggy will wind up costing them about 60M less the Tex would have. And Miggy's defense is average to above average at 1B. He has come along way. Also with Miggys price tag the cost in prospects might be less. I agree with you J_E, it would be funny to give some of the dumass Detroit fans some crap for thinking their team was immune to Detroits economical situaution
  17. I try not to get hung up on the $ amounts because it's not my money. But that seems pricey to me. Oh well they must know that it's going to take a very similar deal or more for Beckett. I hope they can work it out. I like a 1-3 of Lester, Beckett and Lackey much more then I like just a 1-2 punch of Lester-Lackey.
  18. I was going to say this too. But from my personal memory I believe he played well. Average at the least. But like I said this is personal memory, I was a teenager I believe when he was roaming in LF lol
  19. Nicely done mate
  20. Seattle will need to land a LF-DH, 1B, + 1 SP(back end) to fill out the lineup. If they can manage Bay for LF, Vlad for DH and maybe Johnson, Branyan, Laroche for 1B and maybe a Washburn type SP. They will most certainly be in competition in the AL West. Felix and Lee could probably keep them competitive right now. But they will need some of those other holes fiilled to be AL contenders.
  21. It's why it's called a "tentative" agreement Ok I'm on board now. Lester,Beckett, and Lackey 1-3 for the next 5 seasons will be strong. I don't care for the contract they are giving Lackey(supposedly), but I don't mind him at the #3 spot. Him being the the #1 or #2 might give me some worries
  22. Ok I didn't think of all the $ coming off the books next year. So I guess the players I was concerned about can be retained.
