  1. C'mon man, let me grasp at my feeble silver lining
  2. Braves Vs Yankees WS Braves win at home in game 7
  3. Hmm maybe it could be this off season? I think the Nats are a dark horse candidate to get him.
  4. Bounce back. I think not pitching this off season is going to do a lot for all the pitchers on this ball club. I guess that is one of the good things(?) about not making the playoffs. Fresher arms and bodies come Spring
  5. So have I. I don't think they should trade him for nothing. And I'm curious to their plan on how to replace him. I guess I can hope that Felix has told the team to trade him in private  But realistically, Dice-K should warrant some value in return. If the Sox are willing to pick up a % of the amount remaining on his deal, I wager imagine Oakland, Seattle, SF, SD, and LAD to all have interest at some level or another.
  6. Ya probably Just got it in the mail and didn't remember seeing it anywhere on here. But I admit I could have easily missed it lol
  7. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/news/tributes/mike_lowell.jsp?c_id=bos Oct. 2nd will be "Thanks, Mike Day".
  8. Latest Gammons, just some stuff to chew on.
  9. He's an NL pitcher at this point. And will probably be respectable there. The funniest part is tht the Yanks tried this once when he was younger and his stuff was better. They had the perfect sample to tell them not to do this gain. But they went against the logic that everyone outside of Jacko saw. If the Red Sox had gotten him I would have killed the deal. Any AL team trading for him was taking an enormous risk.
  10. It's like your reading my mind
  11. I think your spot on here.
  12. He is still declining it though. This was always the back up option if Beltre's bat didn't come around this season. Boras figured with his D he would get 640 PA or so. If his bat stunk, pick up the 10M option. If he hit well, decline and hit the FA market looking for multi year deal.
  13. I would have that preference too. For all of them to be on board next season, someone is going to have to take a discount most likely fpr that to happen. 1 for sure. 2-3 maybe. Crawford is going to take 15M a year to sign at least. While I see the others getting 12-15M per IMO. And that's not counting the possibility of the rogue GM who get's desperate and starts throwing $ around. And then there is always the Boras factor. He seems to rake over at least one GM per off season.
  14. Or they use him for next season to fill the 3B spot(also RH power) and let him walk at the end of the year. Thus opening a spot up for Agon, Prince, Pujols so on and so forth. It's a 1 year deal. That's it.
  15. I don't see Tek coaching yet. Not if he still thinks he can play and someone will give him a roster spot.
  16. This was written this morning, http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100928&content_id=15183146&notebook_id=15208316&vkey=notebook_bos&c_id=bos So he plans on playing next season and possibly longer. I can see him going somewhere else for a couple seasons and then possibly coming back to the organization when he is done. And that is fine. Because I believe if someone is willing to give you a roster spot you should play. Playing days don't last forever.
  17. Glad we won't have to wait as long for the action to start this off season
  18. I know what your saying and agree. But those players contracts guarantee's them a spot in the rotation. Them bringing in a veteran on a 1 year deal probably won't do much to scare them. If they were to do something like that though, I think Brandon Webb would be a nice candidate. Although I agree with you, until he signs an extension it is still a possibility as much as the others. Who knows maybe he won't want to stay if Larussa is not around. Who knows. But until the ink is dry on a new deal there a chance
  19. I wanted them to go after him this offseason. He didn't have a great 2010, but I would offer arb and if he excepts you have a very versatile IF who normally hits decent.
  20. Also if Papi really is going to have a bitch fit if he is only back on a one year deal, I think this team really needs to make a push for Adam Dunn to be the DH of the future.
