  1. I believe this time he is attempting to come back as a reliever. I believe he has given up on his SP days. Kerry Wood has managed to do it with decent success. He would be worth a minor league offer.
  2. I didn't consider the 40 man roster with Rizzo. I would be on board to see what Lars can do though.
  3. Thanks for everything Manny. That said, kudos to the Sox for getting a decent prospect in return. The fact they got anything of consequence is a win. Ya they may have sold low, but you can't win them all. Good luck to Manny, hope he pitches great for the Rox.
  4. I wouldn't mind seeing him. Iglesias would be nice to see. I think it's also a good time to maybe show case Reddick to possibly up his value for this off season. Same goes for Doubront.
  5. Boo frickity whoo. There was no single move that could have been made to to have salvaged this season. And God forbid they decide not to sell off the farm in muliple deals to try and patch a team together to chase down the 2 best teams in baseball. Like I said earlier, the last time the FO supposedly "gave up" during an injury riddled season, it was followed by an off season in which they purged old contracts, shook the rosters up with key additions and won the WS. Just saying.
  6. In all fairness, the last none playoff season was followed by reshuffling of the roster and a WS title.
  7. That thought did cross my mind.
  8. Ok. Well there may be incentive to move him then. He isn't the only guy that could probably use a change of scenery on that team. It's risky of course. But he is probably a better option for set up duties then most other names I have seen.
  9. I saw Broxton was removed from the closer's role for a few games a little while back. What's the story there? Has he fallen out of favor or was it just a kick in the ass to get him going? I would have to imagine he is getting expensive soon. It might match up. This is easily the biggest long shot. But was worth discussing. A Kemp+Broxton acquisition would be ideal
  10. Sox are in good position to claim him though.
  11. I was thinking the same thing. The Dodgers situation doesn't look good and they have a few decent arms that could be available.
  12. The BP help is probably gonna come through trade. The FA market for RP is meh. And ultimately just cost too much money for what it's worth. I would really like to see the Sox pry Nunez away from the Marlins. 2011 FA RP Relief Pitchers Jeremy Affeldt SF Grant Balfour TB Jesse Crain MIN Scott Downs TOR Chad Durbin PHI Kyle Farnsworth ATL Pedro Feliciano NYM Jason Frasor TOR Brian Fuentes LAA * Chad Gaudin NYY Matt Guerrier MIN Aaron Heilman ARZ Mike Lincoln CIN Brian Moehler HOU J.J. 13. I wouldn't mind Damon. But this feel more like a block then anything.
  14. Sorry, I see now it was mentioned in another thread
  15. Wow. This teams run of injuries borderlines on the absurd. It's a small miracle in itself that the team is still within contention for the playoffs.
  16. I think it be worth trying to catch lightning in a bottle with him for the rest of the year. Especially with Cameron and Ellsbury going down again.
  17. Man where has that Papelbon been all year? Nice to see him get a boost like that. Maybe the 6 days off did him some good. After that outing I don't feel ashamed at using the :papelbon: icon lol
  18. Cameron is done too. Wow. Kalish will be getting a good amount of playing time from here on out. Hawpe and Beltran are the only OF's to clear waivers so far. Slim pickings...
  19. Kid has had some tough luck the year.
  20. I could get on board for Werth.
  21. Fair point. But Nava to me seems a better fit for that role. But I's be satisfied with either as the 4 OF.
