  1. Kalish shouldn't be sitting on the bench for the Sox next season. If he isn't starting, then he needs to be in AAA getting AB's. I think ideally he takes over for Drew in 2012.
  2. Sox did a nice job this year. Really happy about the Ranaudo signing. A bit less the Jacko's 5M estimate though lol LSU got ravaged yesterday.
  3. I believe when the acquired V-Mart last season, Tito had quite the rotation going on between C/1B/3B/DH. They have Beltre this season. No need for Youk to play 3B. edit: See the post before mine
  4. Both NY teams, LAA, DC and Baltimore IMO will be the teams in on the bidding for Lee's services. If the new Texas ownership group put's their money where their mouth is, maybe he doesn't see the FA market at all. If they drop a 5/100-130M or even 6/120-140M + a full no trade clause, it may seal the deal.
  5. I think Farrell will be managing somewhere next season.
  6. Don't bother. He's a bit of a Tosser really. He's a TB fan that's too dumb to realize the Sox are only 5 games back of his Rays. Like that is some insane insurmountable amount of games...
  7. I'm sure my mind will change at some point. But for right now my "off season plan" in no particular order is something like this. Sign Crawford. Trade Ellsbury(+) for Matt Kemp Bring Papi back for 1 possibly 2 years at a discounted rate. If that doesn't work out go after Dunn. Trade Papelbon. Install Bard as Closer(although I won't mind if Papelbon is back for one more year) Trade for Leo Nunez Bring back Martinez as C/1B/DH. Re-sign Bill Hall Let Beltre walk Float Dice-K's name quietly 2011 Red Sox CF/LF Crawford 2B Pedroia 1B V-Mart 3B Youkilis DH Papi/Dunn LF/CF Kemp RF Drew C Salty SS Scutaro Not saying it all will easily happen. Just my spin on how to possibly attack this off season.
  8. I believe it has something to do with all the injuries he has had recently. Not that he is not recovered from these injuries. But I think each injury(Ab,shoulder, and back) have all taken there toll on his delivery sequence. When he is going good he is extremly smooth to the plate. When he is off, like he has been recently, he gets all little herky jerky, too far over the top of staying back too long. He will find it eventually.
  9. They just need to shut him down for the season.
  10. He's flying back to Boston to get looked at. Not surprised if he's done for the year(IMO). http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100813&content_id=13410474&notebook_id=13426668&vkey=notebook_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos&partnerId=rss_bos
  11. Why? If it's the right deal. His trade value is not at it's peak. But it's not too far down the mountain.
  12. I won't mind at all if he's in the OF next season. Just saying the idea of trading him seems more plausible now.
  13. Ellsbury trade talk was getting a nice discussion in the BP thread. Thought it be better to continue it here. As I said earlier, I expect a lot of talk concerning Ellsbury this offseason. Even with the injury this season, he still will have a lot of value IMO. Now I brought up Matt Kemp's name before the TDL. I see this as a possible match. Kemp needs a change of scenery. He is losing favor in that organization quickly. And the once mad idea of trading him doesn't seem as wacked as it did before. An Ellsbury for Kemp deal seems reasonable. It could work out very well on each side. Kemp gets his change. Boston gets a potential power threat from the RH side. LA gets rid of a player that seemingly didn't want to be there. Plus replace him with a young ML tested player.
  14. No Ellsbury doesn't really work for the Padres. I still expect a lot of "Ellsbury" discussions this off season. But we really should change the venue for that discussion. We are just mucking up the BP thread nw
  15. They can not trade him fast enough. They will be lucky if he has any value at all this off season.
  16. Papelbon has become beyond frustrating to watch.
  17. Hall would be worth keeping around. I'd give him 2 yrs 6M at most.
  18. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100811&content_id=13319010&vkey=news_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos A little sooner then I thought. What does everyone think his role will be? Cash to DL with a Hammy.
  19. MDC seems more of a mental issues then a physical one right now. Confidence probably got shook when he was getting tuned up while pitching injured. Hopefully he will find it again. He's young and has really good stuff. Although he can be infuriating to watch sometimes.
