  1. Because Zimmerman was moved to LF when he returned from the DL and the team has no plans to put him back on 3B. I mentioned Porcello cause he only has one year of control left and idk the chances of Detroit extending him.
  2. Maybe. The Nats would have to move R. Zimmerman to 1B. If they are willing to do that than it opens up a spot for Cespedes. Cepedes +1 should be able to fetch 1 season of a mid to top rotation arm. I'm still holding out hope Detroit some how manages to sign Scherzer soon and make Price available. Detroit is looking for a power COF and may match up well for Cespedes. Cespedes, WMB and a P prospect is a good all around package for one year of Price. Hell Cespedes straight up for one year of Porcello would work too if the Sox find a front line SP somewhere else.
  3. So Heyman is saying now Pablo's deal is 95M guaranteed + the option year. So Pablo basically left town for an option year. Either he really wanted to play in Boston or really wanted out of SF.
  4. Like we are laughing at the CC, Tex, Arod, Ells... hold on gotta catch my breath.... Taz, McCaan and Beltran deals? 4 and 5 year deals Jacko, that is the difference between how the Sox do business and how the Yanks do business. High AAV and shorter length. If the Yanks adopted this philosophy they would be in so much better shape right now. That said they may break this philosophy to get Lester. But breaking it once is better than breaking it pretty much every time they sign some player... like the Yankees continue to do.
  5. Scherzer will get 175M from the Yanks or Nats, maybe Detroit imo. And i will laugh vigorously..
  6. No interest in Scherzer at all from me. I dont see that arm aging well at all and he will be another Boras albatross. Also fred, ownership stated recently that going over the LT this season wouldn't discourage them from the right player.
  7. Panda's deal is 5/98M plus club option. Good deal all around. No worries jacko he will be the perfect age when the deal is up for the Yanks to give him a 6 year deal. You'll just have to wait.
  8. Trades are on the horizon.
  9. I wonder if news of the Seager 100M extension made the players agents pump the breaks?
  10. Crasnick reporting Hanley figures inaccurate. The waiting game goes on lol
  11. Reports saying Kyle Seager and Mariners closing in on 7/100M extension.
  12. Not really. He was a throw in roster filler that may or may not produce. It's not like he's on a long term deal. The Sox could non tender him and no feel it at all.
  13. Exactly.
  14. I'm gonna hold off on writing Craig off. I wanna see how a healthy off season suits his play before kicking him to the curb. That said if he is traded I won't shed any tears. idk Pal, I guess I'm in a minority that likes Kelley. A few years of his upside was worth 1 year of a pissed of Lackey making 500K to me.
  15. The Sox still have money for P. They have 140m+ available next off season(before han and pan sign officially). They can go over the LT for Lester if they want for a year if Lester puts them over it. Even if they dont sign Lester they have enough moveable chips now to land a SP via trade. The offensive market happened to break first and the Sox pounced. The SP market was always going to be slow with them not willing to offer Lester a massive sign now deal and Boras doing his yearly routine. There is still time and assets for the rotation. Enjoy what the team has done up until now. Because they are 2 solid moves.
  16. The trade scenarios are plentiful for sure. Gonna make for a heated December around here.
  17. Team and players still haven't said anything tho, I'm kinda waiting for that before getting too into the whole idea of these signings means. Pretty entertaining tho
  18. source? espn has had it in breaking news all day
  19. I'm dying of laughter over here , the irony in this post is priceless
  20. The P market is crawling at a snails pace because of Boras and his usual s***. The offensive market was the first to break and it seems the Sox sprung into action. I swear to fing god if they didn't sign these 2 and waited on the SP market, even if they signed Lester you'd be losing your s*** because the SOx had not done anything to the offense and "they need to score runs too" rants would go on and on and on. We get it, you don't like the FO..
  21. Well looks like it won't get drug out too much longer. We should know soon either way Sorry for the triple post, my phone did't agree with how I wanted to post....
  22. Also he will be able to put on weight(muscle) by not trying to stick at SS and his power could go up. All things to consider.
  23. We know. These are all scenarios of "if" the deals actually go down.
  24. While playing SS. You also failed to mention he played in 140+ games his whole career until the period you pointed out. The move to the OF should help him stay on the field. I get that it is a risk tho. But sometimes you got to take risks. To me honestly this seems less risky than the Crawford signing. Hanley seems more of a discount. If he had put up another career avg year he would have been looking at Cano type money being that he is younger and has similar career stats(with Cano having the edge durability wise). At minimum 7/150M.
  25. Me too. His bat is still legit and they will want to extend his prime as much as possible as he is leaving it. If he hit's .290 20HR 90RBI(all within reason) get's OB at his career clip and plays avg D in LF, the deal will be a steal in this offensive strapped league.
