At the time, they were. Credibility? Get real.
For a million dollars plus a year, it's Cashman's job to be accountable. I'm a fan. I'll support them either way, but I'll praise them when they are doing well [weird, right] and I'll bash them when they are doing poorly [amazing, huh?].
I've been consistent in saying that they should have gotten Santana in trading the younger s***** pitchers. I've been consistent in saying that Cashman has made poor pitching decisions. I bashed Cashman in signing Hawkins over Mahay, in picking up Igawa over Lilly. I advocated trading Kennedy and Melky for Santana...how's that looking now?
All the Cashman butt-humpers think it will be a walk in the park, that we can just sign anyone we want at any price. Well, let's see it. When you're a winning team, players want to come to play for the Yankees. When you're not, you have to overpay to get the stars, which is what they are going to have to do.
For all the draft pick IDIOTS...if you sign a Type A free agent...you lose draft picks. So...wait a sec...hang on here...almost there....
Why not trade them anyways?
If you sign Sabathia, you lose a first round pick, plus the Brewers get a supplemental pick between the 1st and 2nd round. So you know what? Why not TRADE for him and keep your pick? Wouldn't that be better than risking it? You know who was a supplemental pick for the Yankees? Kennedy. So why not trade him? The truth is, at the end of the World Series, I'll create my plan for the Yankees. I can guarantee you that Cashman, if he's still here, won't follow it, and the Yankees will miss out on the playoffs again. Like I said, we'll never win with that idiot running the team. Trust me, no one more than me would like to be proven wrong on this. I'd gladly take the ribbing of my Cashman error if the Yankees win the World Series.
I can't see how anyone with a double-digit IQ actually thinks that Cashman is doing a good job. Take a look at the standings if you think he's doing a good job.
I am surrounded by idiots who can't comprehend the most simple of thoughts.
You need a life.
