    I want the Yankees to win this game for the sole reason of hoping that Mussina wins 20. I'd love to see him make the HOF. That's it.

    Guys, umpiring is about consistency. If he consistently calls a pitch that's borderline one way or the other, it's fine. It's when that borderline pitch is a ball on one pitch, and then a strike on the other. According to what I'm seeing, he's giving the inside pitch to righties for both sides.

    Can't really blame Girardi on that one. Abreu has decent bat control, and Girardi is trying to get this team going. I have no problem with the team taking chances.

    You know, I'm starting to think that Cashman and the people he has hired are simply poor at talent evaluators. They are stockpiling young players and throwing money in the draft, but the players they pick either suck or are injured. GM's in baseball have a saying about the Yankees. "The closer their players get to the big leagues, the less they like them." I agree.

    Joba shouldn't pitch at all this year. They should just shut him down and realize the season is lost. No Jacko....you're right. Cashman is a genius and a living baseball God. That's why we're going to finish 15 gives behind Tampa and 10 games behind the wild card. Stick to medicine Doc. Baseball is way out of your scope of understanding. Robertson is a perfect example. He's just not a good pitcher. With all your stats and press clippings, I needed to see him twice.

    The funny thing is he owns Timlin. Three homers this year alone off of Timlin.

    Not even close VA. Cashman is. I have no problem is he drafted players like Pedroia or Youk or Paps, etc. When you draft Ian Kennedy, who every GM in baseball views as a 5th starter and tout him as one of the pieces to the "answer", when every player you draft needs season-ending surgery, etc....you suck. The time-honored practice is to first axe the GM. Then if the team continues to suck, the GM goes. If you want to keep Cashman as a GM, no way he gets an extension. You go in there and you say "Win the division next year or you're gone". I am so sick of the Yankees rewarding s***** performances with contract extensions.

    I can tell you that it does cancel them out. Many times, I'd have the same player in multiple proposals, and I would tell both players that I have "player X" in two deals, and the first one to accept get's him. As for who is more active SFOC, it's really splitting hairs between you, me, and ORS, and a lot of others. We had some dead weight, and we all know what I mean.

    Dave Robertson is a good reliever huh? Grand slam to Pedroia. Dude, if you still think Cashman is a good GM, you're a loser. Seriously. The fact that he is even offered a job shows how stupid the Steinbrenner's are. I said it before. It will be a sad day when George no longer runs the team. George would have fired Cashman after 2004, both him and Torre. Good riddance 2008 Yankees. At least the Giants did us well.

    I can blame him for the team he put on the field. They are old, not very athletic, and feeling that a complete and utter idiot would have done a better job, I'm blaming him. A GM's job is to put the best team he can on the field. He's failed miserably at it. Not even just a little bit. Completely. Could have gotten Santana. Could have taken CC, but wanted the window. Watch Paul Byrd outpitch Ponson today. Could have given up something for Washburn to make Seattle happy. I put this squarely on Cashman. Seeing how your team has done better with less resources, I hope this guy is out of baseball forever soon.
