  1. Only dreilly knows my fantasy secret. FOOTBALL, YOU *******S! MY FANTASY FOOTBALL SECRET!
  2. You are pathetic, paradisecity. Really. You sadly just don't get it. I must say, with very few exceptions, you guys that posted on this thread have shown about the lowest form of class I've ever seen on Talksox. I'm disappointed in you guys. This would be equivalent to Yankee fans trashing Fenway when/if it closes. Or Boston Garden. Sad.
  3. No problem ORS. I was playing out of sheer boredom. Good luck to all of you.
  4. Thanks Yankees228. I'm looking forward to new memories in the new stadium.
  5. Gonzales and Garard still available for you peons that need help. Bow to me, knaves. You hear me? BOW! You know what I just realized? You guys have to beat me soon. Otherwise, I plan on making you read this s*** for the rest of the year. I LOVE IT!
  6. Glad you agree, you sarcastic son of a bitch. Do you need to feel like the Red Sox are the greatest thing since sliced bread? Does it validate you somehow? By being a part of the Red Sox Nation, do you feel superior to the cheeseheads? Does your girl call out your best friend's name in bed? Inquiring minds want to know.
  7. This is the most ridiculous comparison I've seen in a while. Fine, Red Sox fans...you win. Whatever. The truth be told, the Packers are going on how many years? The fact is that through thick and thin, good teams or bad, they sell out. Watch what happens if the Red Sox finish 3rd or 4th for two or three years in a row. Same with any baseball team. The dynamics of football and baseball are different. You're really not comparing evenly. It's like saying a gold medal in track is harder to accomplish than a gold medal in gymnastics.
  8. What's Oakland's seating capacity? What was it before they closed the upper deck? The idea is that with less seats, you chance to sell out increases. Are you debating this logic?
  9. I would agree with you Kilo if Fenway held 50K+. However, it doesn't even hold 40K. The less seats you have, the easier it is to sell out. The less games you have, the easier it is to sell out.
  10. Can't get in...
  11. Wow...even now, when one of the greatest stadiums in sports history, if not the greatest, is shutting down, you Red Sox fans are petty. I've never been to Fenway, but I'd love to see it. I would have nothing for respect for the park if I was there for the last game. What I had hoped is what I suggested earlier before the season started. The Yankees and Red Sox should have switched the series in August with the last series, so the last game of the year would have been at Yankee Stadium. Let's face it. The Red Sox are a big part of what makes Yankee Stadium so great. The reverse is true for Fenway. It should have been the Red Sox and Yankees that closed out the new stadium. Stop being petty and give the Stadium some credit. Your own manager has a sense of baseball history. I wish more of you would take your que from hm.
  12. Illogical.
  13. This is coming from a guy who advocated not trading Kennedy, who likes a GM who could have had Fuentes for the immortal Kennedy, who supports a GM who is one of two GM's NOT to sign their first round pick. The same guy who touts every single player in our minor league system as the next HOFer. You have the audacity to call me dumb? You're the genius? That's a good one, Jacko. You listed ERA in the initial observation. I use it, and in your words "any baseball fan who knows anything about relief pitching knows that ERA is a very poor stat to follow for relievers". I agree. Why use it then in your analysis? I was bringing myself down to your level. You can use ERA as one of your criteria, but when I do, I'm dumb? You are funny Jacko. I see nothing I like in Ramirez. He's good against bad hitters and bad against good hitters. His mechanics are not that great. His control is poor, which for an off-speed pitcher is not good. His fastball is slow. Veras has a live arm. That's about it. Do I think either of them are good? No. I think Veras could be a decent reliever, but Ramirez is garbage now and tomorrow. You say Edwar's peripherals are dominant. Like what? He has a changeup that he can locate 40-50% of the time, and a flat, slow fastball. Now, I saw Coke pitch today for the first time, and he is very solid mechanically, and he has a kick to his fastball. I don't put stock in stats on young players because the sample size is too small. However, I think he's got a future up here from the one inning I watched him pitch. Jacko, I really don't mean this in a bad way, but you really don't have any idea what you're talking about. You can take every bit of your minor league analysis and throw it in the garbage after I watch a player for a week or so, usually less. You lack this ability. That's fine. Have you noticed what Cano is doing recently at the plate? To prove a point, I'll PM TheKilo. See if you can pick it up. If you can't, stop bothering me, and go give JHB some guy love. Baseball's numbers do a great job, but they don't do the whole job. I guess I come from the Doug Melvin school of scouting players being more important than slide rules.
  14. I think it has to be Green Bay. Not only is it over more seasons, but the fact that the Red Sox have the smallest park in the majors is also a factor. Put the Sox in a 50k+ and no way on earth they sell out in 2005.
  15. You guys are really terrible. How can you guys be losing to a guy who knows NOTHING about football? You should all kill yourselves now. Just hang yourselves in the shower.
  16. What a great night. I'll post some pics. I had a great time. Real bittersweet night at the park.
  17. Actually, you'd probably be good at analyzing college football. Just below prime-time. Sounds your speed, Jacko.
  18. Look, I'll say this. I think if you can acquire one impact player from the draft every three years, you've done OK. In ten years, he's had one in Joba. If you want to say that he only took over in 2006 and he gets an eight year pass, fine. Then so far, he's been successful. However, every pitcher he drafts needs surgery, and more importantly, he can't sign free agent pitchers for s*** and won't pull the trigger on deal(s) that would have kept the Yankees in the pennant race right now. If what you're saying is true that it's mainly Oppenheimer, then why not keep Oppenheimer and get rid of Cashman? Let Oppenheimer make the decisions on the draft and get someone who can make a trade or two. Considering that this offseason is one of the most important offseasons the Yankees have had in years, wouldn't it be better to get someone who can make a difference who has a clue?
  19. If you face the Angels in round 1, you may not even get to a game 4.
  20. Seriously...and you guys may hate hearing this.... The front office dropped the ball. Look, in 2000, we picked up Moose and you picked up Manny. Both deals were good for both teams. When Moose neared the end of his contract, the Yankees extended him due to need as well as a reward for not only continued good play but past performance. The Red Sox let him twist in the wind. All he wanted was an extension. Business decision or not, it was the human element that killed this. Most players who sign a contract want extensions at the end. Were Manny's actions wrong? Absolutely. Did he deserve an extension? Irrelevant. However, the Red Sox FO should have either extended him or traded him before this season began. My two cents.
  21. I'll play.
  22. Thank you. I just can't say it nicely.
