  1. ROFL!!! Kennedy? The guy who had a 965.00 ERA? Hope he pans out. I saw him play in spring training, I liked what I saw. Fluid swing, good athlete...let's hope he pans out.
  2. I sent you an offer, but I'm not sure if it's a good one. I need a comparable WR or RB for either Gonzales or Garard.
  3. Big Papi's CC....you scared the crap out of me. You were winning for the last three days, that Arod grandslam helped me make up some ground.. Only after I clinched a spot in the finals. This is it. We've been the two best teams all year, and it's only fitting we meet to decide it.
  4. Someone make me a good offer for Gonzales and/or Garard.
  5. Cool Yankshater. You never know. Like I said, I got Garard and the Winslow/Gonzales at TE. Looking for a top notch WR or RB. Wow...I'm kicking ass this week. You guys suck. I can't even pick a single player on my team out of a police lineup.
  6. Jacko, how can you possibly even think that he's doing a good job? He's botched everything so far. He got lucky in the supplemental draft with Joba, but Hughes has been injuried, Kennedy is useless, and every top pitcher he has needs TJ surgery. Plus, he can't sign free agent pitchers, and can't make a trade that isn't a salary dump. The Yankees finish 4th under his watch, and you want to give this guy an extension and full control?????? Here's an idea that never crossed your small mind. How about keeping with the plan [which is Gene Michaels' by the way...and getting somebody who can implement it better]? You're walking around like Cashman is God's gift to General Managing. He's below average. We, as Yankee fans, and for the money that a Yankee GM commands, deserve better than this clown.
  7. I agree that they need a good farm system, but Cashman is not qualified to do it, as he ran what they had into the ground.
  8. Like Torre, Cashman made some good moves early on. However, for whatever reason, he just can't do it anymore. Cashman has never built anything. I'll give him credit for the good moves he made in Justice, Clemens....however, he has been just about average. For every good move, I can give you a bad one. It's time for someone who is capable to rebuild the Yankees. Tell me this, Cashman lovers....if we go out and sign CC and Tex and Sheets and everyone else...exactly how is this different than what you guys are complaining about? Aren't you guys complaining that the Yankees didn't build a farm system, and signed over-priced players, etc. You guys are making it seem like a novel idea, of building from within. Hello....that's the goal of every team. It's true....you can't have it both ways YOUR way. You can't get good draft position AND sign Type A free agents. So, if you advocate the Yankees spending money this off-season....really, how good is Cashman's implementation of a plan? We need to spend money to get above Toronto. Look at Tampa or the Red Sox. They don't need a damn thing. They are just better run as a team. Both sides of this issue want the same thing. The Yankees to be built from both within and from outside. A core of players drafted by us while being supplemented by good acquisitions. What we want is the return of the late 90's. I don't think this idiot Cashman is the right man for the job. He drafts terribly, as seen by every other player he drafts having to have season-ending surgery, he can't sign pitchers for s***, and he can't make a trade in the last 5 or 6 years in which the other team is dumping salary. He's been outmanuevered by Theo Esptein in every way possible since 2002. Bring in Stick Michael, or Beane, or Shuerholz...anybody but this guy. Cashman has had no impact every day players drafted, no starting pitcher drafted who's pitched a full season, and turned down one of the best pitchers in baseball in his prime for a borderline-5th starter and one of the worst offensive CF's the Yankees have had in their history. I ask of you to realize that not everything that wears pinstripes is gold. It's just pinstriped s*** sometimes. I have my views, and they are mainly about instant gratification. However, since 2006, Cashman has been terrible. It's time for him to go and to be replaced by someone who can restore this team to greatness. Let me give you an example of the Santana idiocy. You have Wang, Chamberlain, Pettitte, and Moose. Now, if you were to have gotten Santana, that's three pitchers who will be there for a while. Wang, Chamberlain and Santana. Pettitte and Moose will be gone after a season or two. So...what's the point of stockpiling 15 SP when you will only have room for two? Cashman is playing franchise mode on MLB on his playstation. The real baseball world doesn't work this way. He is poor at talent evaluation. He is poor at signing pitchers. He is poor at drafting. He is unwilling to trade prospects for veterans unless he is basically eating salary. I said it before, even here. The day the Yankees lose George Steinbrenner will be a sad day in Yankee history. The old boss is just an old man who doesn't really take part in running this team. Our only hope right now is a loud-mouthed boor in Hank Steinbrenner. Sadly, he's the best we got. He put this season on Cashman's shoulders. It should cost him his neck. Hank's instincts told him to go get Santana. His instincts on Cashman were correct as well. I just hope he follows through on it. Cashman should be unceremoniously dumpled. Let's see a WINNING team go grab him. When the only team looking for your services is Seattle, you didn't do much in your old job. Especially if you were the GM of the most storied franchise in baseball history.
  9. He did well with the Justice deal and the Clemens deal. I'll give credit where it's due. Time for him to go.
  10. You can't give Cashman credit for any of the years. He came on and did s***. Let's just say that Hughes, Kennedy, and all the other guys the Yankees have already drafted make it big. That would be to Cashman's credit, not the new GM.
  11. That seems right. 5th in the minors, 4th in the AL East. Anything else?
  12. Let's hope so.
  13. If he had done this before the start of this season, we'd be in the thick of the race Kilo. Cashman is not qualified to run this team.
  14. The sad thing is you're too f***ing stupid and stubborn to realize that while the plan is good, he's NOT QUALIFIED to do it. Gene Michael did EXACTLY what you want. When George was suspended, he built up the team from the ground up with good drafts and good trades. God, I can't believe you're this stupid. What Casman is doing isn't a novel idea. He is just trying to copy EXACTLY what Gene Michael did. He's just not good at it. This is why I advocate Michael. My problem isn't with the plan. It's Michael's plan. It's with Cashman, who is not qualified to do it. For once in your sorry life, open your eyes. This isn't Cashman's plan. It's Michael's. Why not bring back the guy who not only started it, but won 4 championships because of it? To take a page from your posting.... jacko is dumb.
  15. Enjoy Seattle. Try beating the Angels, douchebag. You'll just be another in a long line of Yankee GMs who faded into obscurity after you leave the Yankees.
  16. Quote from Hank Steinbrenner:
  17. Does anyone want David Garard or Tony Gonzales? I need a good WR or RB.
  18. I got dibs on Gretzky.
  19. Baseball is not like other sports. Some players drop to the Yankees due to their demands. Their drafting position is not as poor as you make it out to be. With you analysis of his moves...I agree with your assessment of 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12-20, 22-23. I will now debate the other ones.: Matsui has not stayed on the field, and giving a guy a long extension after major injuries is a bad move. Tied up too much money for no reason. 13 million a year for a guy who can no longer stay healthy is a big waste. My thing is your analysis of "great moves". If you want to consider Joba a great draft, I'm ok with that. However, not a single player is a full-time contributor, and the one pitcher has been injured. Let's agree on one thing. Until a minor league player is a) contributing on the major league level at more than a bench/role player role or is traded for one that is...let's refrain from calling him a "great move". My biggest thing with your analysis is that you bestow pseudo-legendary status on players who haven't seen the inside of a major league stadium without a ticket. Kennedy has COST us more games then I care to count. If we had...say Johan Santana, we would have gained nearly 4 games in the loss column this year...and that alone would have made our September relevant. So until they get up here or until they are traded for someone, they are inconsequential. These were bad moves Jacko. We got nothing for them. The fact that we didn't need them is irrelevant. However, the teams that got all the players got more from them then we did. When given a chance to make a real deal where money was not a great factor [and advantage] he did nothing of value. I would say a wash at best. $16 million for a .500 pitcher this season is terrible. Last year, he did adequate. If he had retired and we had gotten Johan, this team would be fighting for the wild card. He gambled on Pettitte and not on Johan, and lost on both accounts. Let's wait till he contribures up in the big show first. A non-move as of yet. The main reason for his dismissal, and you would call it a "time will tell" move. Not trading for Santana will be the mark that forever follows this idiot. Posada said "We need a No. 1. We certainly need a No. 1, and I think that's the reason we're going after Santana. It is a need in October, no question about it," Posada said. "I think when you look at the past World Series champions they were able to have a No. 1 throwing three games, or at least two games, to win the title." Follow the link here. Gene Michael said the same thing. Cashman bet on Hughes and Kennedy to carry the team's rotation. He bet wrong. The Mets will play October baseball. The Yankees won't. The main reason is they got Johan, and we didn't. How you could call this anything but a DISASTER is beyond me. CC coming to the Yankees is irrelevant. My own eyes and every scout outside of the Yankees say that Kennedy will never amount to more than a 5th starter. You and Cashman say different. Hughes is looking like the second coming of Pavano to me. He's had a bad groin, back, shoulder or elbow I think, poor eyesight....considering that Cashman's seeming requirement for drafting pitchers is at least one major surgery to get a signing bonus, he's relatively healthy by his standards. This move alone should cause him to be fired. Jacko...you also forgot the Pavano deal. The non-deal for Sabathia. This year's draft debacle. Not signing Lilly, who literally begged to come back to NY. Not signing Mahay and opting instead of Hawkins. He's done nothing. Reinstate Stick Michael and the Red Sox and Rays will start to worry. Keep Cashman, and they will be laughing for years to come. Rumor has it from Lohud blog that Cashman may be out the door. I can only pray it's true.
  20. Exactly what has he done since he was given power Jacko? Run this team into the ground. You think he has earned the right to stay? The team got worse every year since he took "full control" as you defined it. Class dismissed. Hopefully, so will Cashman's fate.
  21. The blatant stupidity is you think he had anything to do with any of them. My grandmother could have won 3 World Series if she was named GM in 1998. By the way, she died in 1986. Since Cashman.... The Yankees from their heydey 1996-2000 have declined in every way possible. The Yankees farm system has not developed a SINGLE position player and one potential pitcher [Joba]. Before Cashman [Jeter, Pettitte, Posada, Bernie Williams]. Cashman. s***, s***, more s***. The Yankees under Cashman have been atrocious at signing free agent pitchers. They let Pettitte go when he was good and resigned him when he was washed up. Contreras. Igawa over Lilly. The Yankees under Cashman traded away one of their most dangerous bats in Sheffield for a damaged minor league pitcher. The Yankees under Cashman let this year's first pick get away, their second pick needs TJ, and their 3rd pick scared them off so much that they didn't sign him. The Yankees under Cashman gambled that Kennedy and Melky would provide more bang for the buck than Santana. Santana will lead the Mets to the playoffs this year. Kennedy will lead the Yankees minor league affiliate to a win. Consolidate Tampa and New York? Tampa did better then this clown. I know more about analyzing baseball than any other Yankee fan here. This is not because I'm all that great, it's just the majority of the Yankee fans here are clueless. Stop making this about me versus you. I ask all Yankee fans who defend him....are we better off? Do you feel good about your chances next year? While the Red Sox have been far and away better at developing and drafting young talent, they have surpassed us for the near future. The Rays have also surpassed us, in both talent and their ability to maintain it until they lose them financially. Where the Yankees have Joba and Cano, the Rays have Longoria, Crawford, Prince, Kazmir, Shields. The Red Sox have Lowrie, Paps, Youk, Pedrioa, Ellsbury, Lester. They are both developing better players then we could dream of. I will say this. I WANT the Yankees to develop their own stars, like Jeter, Bernie, Mo, Posada, Pettitte. However, if this guy is depending on signing free agents like CC and Tex and Sheets and everyone else...what's the point of keeping him? If he can't walk the walk, then it's time to get someone who understands. His plan is a good one. His ability in implementing it is terrible. It's time to bring in someone who can draft and pull the trigger on deals that are not so one sided due to payroll that he can't help but win the deals. It's time to bring in a GM who understands pitchers, and signs the right ones, and draft one's that don't need surgery. Stop making this about an argument between me and the Cashman lovers. We are on the same side. It's time to realize that the plan he has is good, but the implementation of it is poor. He has to go. Bring in someone who can do it, not just talk about it.
  22. Is there still a hockey league?
  23. Kennedy is a fifth starter on a bad team. Get with the program already.
