  1. why dont the M's steal more. Ichiro on 1st, M's down a run and the sox on defense sounds like an easy steal
  2. I wouldnt do anything with a gun on third either. I'd probably freeze. Dude, he got you a lead and against this putrid offense, that's probably a win
  3. His BABIP is .350. His xFIP is 3.39. He's been incredibly unlucky
  4. Kevin Cash might be my favorite Red Sox
  5. Yanks win 7-1. Mitre vs Davies tomorrow, so we'll probably see a pen game. Them losing Callaspo and Dejesus has helped significantly as well. And we finish with Hughes vs O'Sullivan. I have a feeling we crush the kid his second time around. I'm liking our chances of a sweep here
  6. I love this mariner's lineup. Aside from Ichiro, everyone is .250 or less with .050 or less IsoPatiences. Until Smoak and Ackley get their feet wet, the offense is gonna be terrible in Seattle
  7. He's set for about 80 pitches. He's at 33 with 2 outs in the second. He may only last 5 tonight, so the pen is probably gonna decide the game
  8. No doubt. Granderson has completely regressed. He isnt hitting the ball the other way and isnt adjusting to how he's pitched. He is seeing a lot of breaking balls in off the plate and a lot of heat away
  9. Pedroia has a CT next week and after that he could be cleared to play. Earliest expected date of Pedey's return would be first week of August
  10. I find it kinda funny that the Yankees were on the cusp of getting a Cy Young winner in Lee with just prospects and now seem to be getting perennial Cy Young contender with a reliever and prospects. Yet, I am the one who isnt living in reality?
  11. Joba, Nova and McAllister is the rumor I am seeing. Would clean out the upper levels, but I really would have to be on board with this
  12. M's on top 1-0. The fan should be ejected
  13. Good to see Burnett straighten himself out a bit and a good game from our offense all around. 6 more outs until we close out another victory
  14. cause that would make sense. Stop talking sense!
  15. And, at 12 mil a yr, he isnt a hindrance to signing Lee in the offseason
  16. And people thought the Yankees system sucked. LOL
  17. It is definitely interesting. I think this plan opens the sox up in a world of directions. First, Beltre was a goner after the season regardless. Getting and retaining Werth allows the sox to move Ellsbury to CF with Cameron depending on who is healthy. It also frees up the sox to go out and get Chris Ianetta. The point here being that VMart, when he returns can go to 1b, which would extend his career and possibly keep him in Boston past this yr. I think this not only works, I think this move could be a great one.
  18. Beltre has been money this yr, but he had only one similar season, in a contract yr. I dont think Beltre is a guy you lock up long term. Michael Young would be a good fit, although he doesnt really fit into the lineup as currently constructed. When Ells and Pedey are healthy, those guys are 1-2 and Young really is a good #2 hitter. You'd be paying $15 million or so for a guy who'd hit 7th or 8th. You're already paying $14 million for a guy hitting 6th or 7th, that doesnt make a ton of sense
  19. Sounds like someone didnt want to go to Safeco, where hitting prospects go to die.
  20. a 2 run lead? This one is over. Goodnight all
  21. walk, SB, groundball, groundball, wild pitch, run. That might be the only way this pathetic offense scores tonight
  22. Yankees win 10-4. CC takes over the league lead in wins
  23. y228, I expected an up and down yr from Hughes, a streaky yr from Burnett, a dominant yr from CC, a solid yr from Pettitte and a 200IP 4.5ERA season from Vazquez. They started off like gangbusters, but the rotation has pretty much settled out like I expected. Hughes is gonna be good for either a shutdown start or a poor one from here on out. Burnett just needs to get hot, then he'll run with it. To be honest with you, I dont think we need a starter at all. In the playoffs, you need 4 starters. I am cool with CC, AJ and Pettitte. The other one being either Hughes or Vazquez is okay with me too. I think we need a dominant reliever. Robertson is filling into the 7th inning role really well, but our 8th inning is a mess. And since Girardi pretty much outright refuses to remove Joba from that role, we are gonna need to force his hand. I've heard Lidstrom, Nunez, Soria, etc. We need SOMEONE so we can lessen Joba's role and hopefully have him recapture some of his magic
