  1. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/gamelog?playerId=3748 Pretty easy to find. 3 for 25. And of note, since the ASB, the sox offense has scored 21 runs in 7 games. Not coincidentally, they have gone 2-5 in those games while only allowing 4.7 runs per game. Getting Beckett and Buchholz back will help, but they'll need more than 3 runs per game to stick with it.
  2. Ah yes, it was you who were quick to judge when I said Hall would stick around. Hall is versatile and can swing the stick just about as well as Hermida can. Hermida is about as versatile as Manny Ramirez. Once Hermida got injured and Nava showed his worth, the deathknell of Hermida's career in Boston was told. Hermida will in all likelihood be traded, IMO. My guess is that he sticks around until Ellsbury comes back and then gets DFA'd and moved. With Ellsbury and Cameron in the OF, the chance of injury is high and the sox need to have an OFer capable of playing CF who is not Bill Hall (he's an abysmal CFer) which is why I think McDonald sticks. So, it's time for Hermida to audition for either a weak starting role or a 4th OFer role on another contender. My bet is that by the end of the yr, Hermida is gone and Nava is back up. The kid was better than Hermida in the short time he was up
  3. Montero went 3 for 3 with a double and a walk yesterday. AVG up to .278 and OPS up to .821. Call him up
  4. The sox always struggle on the west coast. This happens every yr
  5. Sox lose 2 of 3 in Oakland. Yankees and Rays win. Sox now 8 games out in the loss column in the AL East and 5 out in the L column of the WC.
  6. The Angels always play us though. That should come as no surprise. Glad we split, now we get to face the Royals without Greinke
  7. Yanks dodge a bullet today. Sox take a 4 run lead early and blow it. The Rays blow a lead to the Orioles.
  8. You're behind a girder. Not a good view. Go to stubhub and you could get a better seat
  9. It hurts. I wore one as a 1b, but never as a pitcher and I got hit mid game. Embarassing and very painful. Outfielders rarely wear one
  10. we played a good team. It happens.
  11. How? He continues to get top dollar for his players
  12. I might start supporting the Crawford to the Bronx mojo. But not to replace Gardner. Right now, Granderson is a giant offensive black hole. We cant use his speed, cause he isnt getting on base and he isnt using his power so what's he good for? Defensively, he's been an adventure, and not a good one. This trade might turn out to be one of the worst we could have made. Might be time to sell him off on the cheap this offseason and get Crawford for LF and move Gardy back to CF
  13. Shealy is the righty stick off the bench right now. I agree, I think he might stick until Lowell comes back
  14. Montero is officially on fire. 2 for 3 with a walk and 2 homers tonight. HR total to 10. Line up to .271/.348/.459 for an OPS of .807. He's got an OPS of around 1.100 over his last 30 games. On fire. With our DH spot being an abysmal black hole, might be time to fit him for some pinstripes
  15. There isnt a guarantee. But I think that he looks lost out there. It isnt a question of stuff. He still sits 95 with a dynamite slider. His problem seems to be testicular fortitude and location. He looks like a child out there
  16. I'd argue that Lavarnaway is your highest upside catcher, mostly due to what he brings to the offensive side of the dish. His problem is defense as we all know
  17. for this yr, getting Lee and moving Hughes to the pen would have been beneficial to the club. But for Hughes to be a top notch starter, it would hurt him This game is a total suck fest for the Yankees. Hughes had no location and the Yanks cannot hit this shitballer. Oh well, try again tomorrow
  18. He got a pretty nice bonus out of it though. That is what I meant. He got 3 mil.
  19. His location sucks tonight y228. He is missing his corners with his fastball causing him to leave them over the plate. This is Phil Hughes stuff wise, but the location blows.
  20. I agree that he needs to develop that change. He had a slider last yr that he seemed to scrap for some reason. I thought the cutter to slider to curve movement was a big reason for his success last yr. Cause they could get a breaking ball at 90, 85 or 80 with a different plane. BTW, tie game, but Hughes actually put that ball in a good spot
  21. Boras isnt afraid to send a guy to Indy ball. Aaron Crow and Luke Hochevar increased their draft status by doing that.
  22. Getting Lee would have been awesome, but at the same time, Hughes in the pen doesnt help his progression at all. He needs to work on the change, and he doesnt need it in short stints. Regardless, he has nothing tonight
  23. He has a great 4 seamer. The problem is, he fell in love with his cutter. He needs to learn that the cutter is a great weapon for lefties, but a bad idea for righties as it breaks right down the heart of the plate.
