  1. Wait, so you are saying the sox have a better rapport with people who have left them than the Yankees do? Really?
  2. Bowden is being showcased, I agree with spud on this one. You dont bring up a guy who is new to the pen after 6 appearances in the minors unless you are doing something. My guess is that Bowden is gonna be a part of a deal for a reliever or for Dejesus
  3. This was during the all-star game apparently.
  4. That's my thought. Soria is a closer only. Joba, if rectified to being more than just a scared kid on the mound, could become a top notch starter or closer. Hell, he was a scared kid on the mound last yr and was pretty average in his first yr. You'd think one would get better, not worse
  5. I went there when I was 15. The museum is great, the street that it is on is always interesting and jammed. I dont remember the food specifically, but once you go off that main drag, there is nothing for literally 100 miles
  6. It very well could be a big issue. Cashman said he should be back in the Bronx in a month. My guess is that they give him a full 2 weeks off, then have him start throwing again with a rehab start prior to coming up. They MRI'd it and it was only a grade 1, so it isnt like it tore off the bone or anything. A younger player would be back in 15 days
  7. Thank God! Girardi says he will re-evaluate the setup role and Joba is likely out! Good, SEND HIM DOWN, let him get right for the playoffs. We need him.
  8. Nobody would listen spud.
  9. Bowden looked good today. You will definitely get to see what he can do over the next 2 weeks or so
  10. pretty quick turnaround. MLB did you no favors. Start off earlier than most with a 4 game set in Boston, then having to turn around and go to Oakland to play the next night and for 10 straight nights on the west coast. The A's have been hot lately too, but you do catch a break in Seattle. No Felix
  11. Beckett and Buchholz find their way back into the rotation, Wake and Doubront leave. VMart got his hand into his glove today, but noted it was still pretty sore.
  12. If we play it right, we'll have Mitre face KC, Cleveland and Toronto before seeing Texas, then KC before Pettitte is expected back. That's about the only silver lining with losing an all star pitcher. This one will hurt
  13. Pettitte out a month with a groin strain. Mitre will start in his place
  14. You are preaching to the choir here. Those were my points exactly when I got shot down by some of the pink hats on the site
  15. So many people were jumping on me when the sox injuries happened and I said that the O would be hurt. I heard a ton of "we'll be fine", "our offense is great!1!!1!", and we can "get by." Well, you're a week away at least from getting VMart back at C, and at least 3 weeks away from getting Pedroia or Vtek back. Without those guys, the team bands together for a short while, then will revert to their standard level of replacement player. I caught a ton of s*** for it and it is about to be proven right, again.
  16. Price has left far too many pitches over the middle of the plate. BTW, how were the brats?
  17. If the score stays as is, the sox will have scored 9 runs in 4 games at home against the Rangers with only one of them being against a truly good pitcher (Lee). Those who like to hide their heads in the sand about the sox offense should try coming up for air every now and then.
  18. Burnett was throwing better in his 2 starts before he f***ed up his hands. Regardless, he's a wild card, unsure of what he'll give us. Pettitte was the stalwart this yr, hopefully he isnt out for too long.
  19. they did the same thing yesterday. Ron Washington has been blessed with talent, but he has no control over this team
  20. Pettitte left the game with a groin/hammy injury. Unsure if pulled or if cramped
  21. Awesome, looks like the injury bug travelled to the west...
  22. I find it funny that I am first and foremost in your mind when I wasnt even around. Youk came up big, but Washington blew it. How do you let your tiring lefty face the team's best hitter, who happens to be right handed, with the tying run on third WHEN you have a dominant right handed closer ready in the pen? Washington tried to appease Lee by getting another CG, and instead he lost a game in the standings to the Halos. He should do more coke
  23. At least he didn't pull a Kevin Brown and break a hand. We need him healthy
  24. The goal with a guy like Lackey is to keep the ball down, which is what he's doing now
