    The team has become unwatchable. They can’t move runners, they don’t hit to situations and they seem to lead the league in solo home runs. They absolutely suck with runners on base. It’s like everyone coming to the plate is in a home run derby. That’s on the hitting coach and the manager. The fundamentals of this team suck. When the Yankee dynasty was in effect, every AB was a grind, they hit to situations and they never seemed to make mental mistakes. This team is the exact opposite.

    If Cashman wants to keep his job, he needs to prove that the team is better than they are. This would be to change the manager. If the manager changes and the team gets better, than Cashman is validated. If the team continues to be a 84 win team, then Cashman goes too

    The games are unwatchable. Play down to bad opponents, roll over vs good ones. A manager is expected to get the most out of his team. Boone has gotten the least. Fire the ever living f*** out of Aaron Boone and promote Phil Nevin. The guys is a hard ass who already has the team’s respect. He won’t be a pushover.

    We are 5 back in the L column. If we lose tonight, we will be 6 back on June 27. Saying they’re done is asinine. Now, saying that they are playing like they have no spine, like gutless weasels who lay down at the first sight of adversity, well, that I’d agree with. The problem I’m having here is the Yanks are front runners, and watching a front running team is not fun. Either the yanks take the lead and hold onto it, or they get behind and roll over. They have absolutely no fight in them.

    It’s only good analysis because it’s likely right, not that it’s best for the Pirates. The best thing for the Pirates is to draft the best player available. They suck, have sucked, and will continue to suck. The way they’re run, the only way forward is to have a wave of players graduate at the same time or make savvy deals from trading controllable players for a stockpile of near big league ready players. That article talks about the Pirates timeline as if Leiter doesn’t line up. The pirate’s timeline is never, lol.

    There’s zero reason to forgo more money to go to Boston. Boston’s player development machine hasn’t been kind to pitchers and they’re currently a good team. Leiter has a better chance to move into the pros sooner on a rebuilding club. All that draft drop s*** sounds like media spin, likely from the boston media, ie john Henry’s peeps If he’s looking at any club in the top 5 with great pitching track records, you stop at Detroit. That system has salvaged young pitchers, developed them, and has always seemed to get the most out of their starters. If he’s trying to pick a team based on relative proximity to the MLB and developmental acumen, then it’s the tigers. But the idea of “picking a team” is tremendously dumb on its face
