    There’s the issue. They were offered a nearly free LH power hitter who other than HRs sucks entirely and they took it. The Yanks had depth, the problem was, they had depth with the rocket ball. Every hitter has gone to s*** with this new ball, and it’s clearly mental The Yanks have the rotation and pen to be dangerous in the playoffs. A simple investment in the offense (a CFer and a LFer) would make this team very dangerous. But with $4 mil left on the budget, they’re not getting either of those spots fixed. It seems like the FO is okay punting a season and that’s concerning to me. If that’s the case, id rather Stein sell to someone willing to make a major investment and not worry about the financials

    This is the funny thing here. They're cracking down on the substances because the offense cratered this year due to deadening of the ball. They could just have gone back to the old ball and left things alone.

    He should be. I actually think most pitchers "cheat" like this. There has been no punishment, so they've let it slide. Pitchers say it keeps the batters safe and to a degree they are right. But the stuff they're using now gives them a grip far beyond what they need to keep the ball from running up and in.

    This team, on paper, was a title contender at the beginning of the season. The massive failure 60 games in that is the 21 Yanks needs to have consequences. I don’t care if it’s Buck or another qualified guy, but changes need to be made. In 17-19, this team was good and maybe overachieved. But we add the best pitcher in the AL and go into the tank for 20-21. That has to have consequences. Cashman is not immune here. I said from the day Brosseau took Chap deep last year that we needed to add LHHers to the club and they didn’t. There was no offensive additions period and now the offense can’t hit their way out of a wet paper bag. Everyone should be on notice. Cashman doesn’t get a lifetime appointment here. His seat should be white hot right now

    Still just at a loss with this team. Pen fails them when they need them. Offense hit like mad last year, can’t hit at all now. Everyone is scuffling, even Lemahieu who was so integral to the offense the last two years. This is a massively disappointing team.

    King has tremendous stuff. When he’s locating, he will be hard to beat. That being said, beating King entails scoring more runs than he allows, and with the Yankee noodle bats, you might only need one run
