  1. They did suck. Then they started to play better, then got reinforcements and then started getting healthy. Who are the Sox reinforcements? Who’s coming back that’ll make a measurable impact? That’s the thing here. The yanks had more talent entering the year. Everyone knew it. Their talent got hurt and underperformed. Now the talent is getting healthy, is performing the way they should and had even more talent added. This is a different team than they were 6 weeks ago
  2. Momentum is huge. Sox folded as their team got tired and the FO clearly didn’t show support. This Sox team is done. They’ll be buoyed by a bad schedule over the next couple weeks, but it gets tougher in September. They’ll be 5-6 games out come end of year and won’t be a PO team
  3. 12 game swing in the standings in 6 weeks. Yanks red hot. Kluber getting stronger in the minors. Gleyber and Urshela close to a return. Sevy’s shoulder, per Boone, turned out to be nothing and he’s planning to throw next week (believe that when I see it). Reinforcements are coming.
  4. Because you weren’t that good to begin with, were playing over their head and didn’t make a big acquisition. The Sox are dead here. Their only saving grace is a light schedule, but aside from the Glory Holes, the other teams do pose a threat to take a couple games in a series. Yanks looked defeated before their additions. They got the jolt they needed but also the left handed power and defense they needed more than anything. The Sox got a good DH/LFer but nothing else and their pen went to s*** immediately after
  5. Haven’t been willing to say the Sox are in a death spiral (to use a700’s lingo) until last night. Heaney was definitely better than before, but the Sox had chances at fat pitches and just didn’t capitalize. For a team that was fighting for its playoff lives, they rolled over. The soft schedule should keep them relevant, but once Bloom avoided reinforcements, it was clear this dog don’t hunt.
  6. If the Sox have any fight left in them, they’ll win tonight. If Heaney spins a big performance, then the Sox are dead
  7. Ultimately, I think Bloom was unhappy the Sox were good this year. They were over their skis all year. Had they flopped earlier, they’d have been able to tear down the team which is what Bloom would have wanted. JD would have had some value. ERod maybe some value. Eovaldi definitely. Heck, they could’ve even entertained a blockbuster and moved on from Bogey. Thing is, with the Sox being good, it didn’t allow the tear down Bloom wanted and will actually have to escalate the rebuild because fan expectation for 22 is that they compete
  8. Rizzo set to return vs Twins. Likely to see Gallo shift to CF and Stanton shift to LF. Will allow Voit to DH and Rizzo to move to 1b. Team will have a stacked lineup once Gleyber and Urshela return
  9. I do actually. Yanks suck at sweeps, they rarely win the final game. Pivetta has been good and Heaney is a fly ball pitcher against a HR hitting team in Yankee stadium. I’m expecting a deficit through 5 and Boone to rest his pen and allow a beating. That’s my expectation. My hope, clearly, is that the Yankee offense can keep up with the rockets Heaney allows and the pens face off against each other.
  10. On July 5th, we were 10.5 games back of the Sox. Now we are ahead. Keep this train rolling yanks! (And I fully expect yanks to lose tonight, Heaney sucks).
  11. I just read the first page of this thread. You guys have Tyler Durden? Well now we are all f***ed.
  12. Yanks biggest competition on the schedule outside of the East just lost their ace in a frightening manor (A’s). It’s gonna be a dogfight to the finish
  13. Tony Gwynn hitting and Greg Maddux pitching were two of the absolute best clinics for a young baseball fan.
  14. And Luis Gil’s stuff is electric, but you guys caught him on a bad day. He couldn’t get that slider to break. Prior to facing the Sox, he walked 3 in 11 innings. Yesterday he walked 4 in 4.2 mostly because he had to rely on FB and change. Heck, his flat slider was used more as a change up than his change up. Kid is the real deal, though. Nasty stuff. Gonna see a lot of him these last six weeks with Severino down for the count
  15. What I’m saying is the Yanks use the top of their farm to replenish their big league talent. Luis Gil being a good example of that. They use the middle parts of their top 30 to trade for big league talent. They’ve done this all year. They got Taillon, Gallo, Rizzo, and Heaney without touching their top 5.
  16. He’s a FB pitcher in Yankee stadium. You guys should win unless the Yanks offense decides to show up
  17. Clint Frazier might be done for his career. Persistent dizziness/vertigo, likely a post concussive complication. Boone not sure he will ever play again
  18. Gotta win today tonight cause Heaney is pitching tomorrow and he sucks donkey balls
  19. I want to fire Boone now
  20. BA has ALWAYS overvalued systems based on the top of their farm. Adding Mayer is huge for the Sox. Having Durran progress and Casas progress gave you 3 top 50s. There’s your reason for a jump in rankings. Yanks have rarely been a top 15 farm with BA yet continually make trades from the middle of their top 30 and are able to get premium talent.
  21. No we haven’t. We went 2-1 vs White Sox and 2-1 vs Royals
  22. We’ve won 4 of the last 6, 9 of the last 12, and 14 of 19
  23. Our problem with one run games is that we’ve had multiple 4+ run leads blown in the 9th. Imagine if we closed down easily winnable games like we should have? Interestingly, this Yankee squad has underperformed tremendously prior to the ASB. It’s hard to tell if they’re playing over their heads now or playing as they should be
