  1. Any chance yanks have of a home first game comes down to tomorrow. Sox play 6 games vs garbage teams after tomorrow. Yanks need a 1 game lead as a tie does them no good due to tie breaker
  2. Stanton goes yard. Chapman nearly poops his pants but holds it down. It all comes down to ERod and JMont tomorrow.
  3. Lol, runner on third, less than 2 outs and we f*** it up. Figures
  4. Hunter Renfroe plays that corner amazingly. He’s tremendous
  5. When I said we’d score 4 runs the rest of the way and lose the series, I didn’t expect to get shutout by Pivetta. I’ve watched most of this game. Pivetta has been wild in the zone and the Yanks aren’t taking advantage at all. They emptied the tank last night.
  6. I have said and will continue to say that the Yanks are the more talented team. When they play to their potential, they should beat the Sox. Their issue is consistency. They smash the Sox on Friday, but it would surprise me little if the Yanks score 4 runs total today and tomorrow and lose the series
  7. If only Boone could realize that Kluber is a 3 inning guy at this point. Now, I know I’m assuming a lot here, but if the yanks do progress past a play in game having used Cole, I’d go JMont, Kluber/Sevy, Gil/King/German, Cole. With multiple guys coming back late from injury, we are gonna need to use guys for a single turn through the lineup then switch it up
  8. Never said we had MLB ready position player prospects, but multiple MLB ready pitching prospects Clarke Schmidt was a top 100 prospect. Elbow injury in ST knocked out 5 months of his season Deivi Garcia, who was pretty solid last year in his debut as a 20 yr old, lost his mechanics and is going to need another minor league year to find the zone again Luis Gil has been solid, made 6 MLB starts post ASB and has been really good, if not erratic in the zone Nick Nelson, throws smoke, great MiLB numbers, shits the bed when he gets to the bigs Abreu has a massive arm and has had runs of success in between stinkers where he cannot get anyone out We had position player depth, but not prospects. Mike Ford had a solid debut in 19. Sucked so bad this year he was DFAd. Thairo Estrada had a solid debut in 19 and wasn't used last year. He was dealt to SF where he has been really good as a super utility guy Tyler Wade has earned our super sub role and has been really good as a versatile defender with a good eye and great glove
  9. Especially for a talented team that has underachieved.
  10. Sale’s stuff isn’t crisp yet. You don’t throw him vs a RH heavy Yankees lineup. I’d also look to Houck for the final Yankee game over ERod. I’d go all RH power vs the Yanks
  11. He stopped throwing the cutter in 2020 because it was leaking dead center and he got shellacked.
  12. That being said, no excuse for this year. Team should have been better. Offense couldn’t get off the ground. Team built to be too one sided. Managerial team unable to adjust or motivate. Can’t fire the players
  13. Don’t think the Astros were a bad team. Do think they got some serious help late due to their cheating which contributed to our losses. The Springer HR off Ottavino. The Altuve HR off Chapman. That’s just 19. Good pens were wrecked by HRs off them in Houston in those two series and the cheating definitely had something to do with it
  14. Guys who have INSANE ceilings continued. 20 yr old SS Anthony Volpe- Across A and A+. Stat line is stupid. .294/.423/.604 in 412 AB. 27HR, 33SB. I have read some scouting articles on him that paint him more as a 2b. Has a solid physical build, but they think he is so physically "solid" in the legs that he will be a better fit for 2b long term. Bat is exceptional. Power unexpected. Speed has been awesome. Will start next year in AA and might even be an option for the Yanks by mid season next year. 21 yr old SS Oswald Peraza- .297/.358/.483 stat line with 17HR and 36SB. Slick fielder who should have the chops to stick at SS, but also shows capability to be a super utility player. Bat to ball skills are good and power a bit unexpected this year for someone so young. Fast as lightning as well. He is in AA now and should start 22 in SWB and be the first guy called up should there be a MIF injury. 22 yr old UTIL Oswaldo Cabrera- .256/.311/.492 with 24HR and 20SB. Switch hitter with a decent glove. Has power and speed as well. His lack of ability to take pitches and walk will hinder his ability to be a CIF or COF starter unless his power takes the next step or he proves he could stick in a MIF or CF position. Will be listed as a 3b for SWB next year, but he will play games all over the field. Peraza has the higher ceiling, but Cabrera is good as well and is really young for his level. My bet is he is dangled due to the depth at the MIF positions 20 yr old OF Everson Pereira- .303/.398/.686 across A and A+. Very fast OFer with light tower power and just started showing it. 20HR and 9 steals in 49 games. 31EBH in 49 games. Can take a walk but also K's a bunch. He will likely be in AA next year 22 yr old C/OF Austin Wells- .264/.390/.476- debut season as last year was washed out. 16HR and 16 steals in 103 games. Solid offensive year while they progress him as a C. He is more a Schwarber type whose power should manifest further as he gets older and stronger. Should start 22 in AA 18 yr old Jasson Dominguez- .252/.353/.379- Lots of ups and downs for him. He goes on a tear then goes ice cold (as he is now). Kid is super young for his level and will likely repeat the level out of the gate next year. Has shown glimpses of the speed and power while also showing the willingness to walk. K's too much at this juncture. 21 yr old 1B/OF Anthony Garcia- .306/.444/.678- Insane long season debut part of season. 39 games, 14HR, 15SB. He is 6'5" and switch hits. Has light tower power. Needs to find a position and stick. Aside from Dominguez and maybe Volpe, he has the highest ceiling of anyone. 21 yr old SS/3B Trey Sweeney- .261/.384/.548- very solid long season debut for Sweeney. Most college draftees go short season out of the gate, but things have changed recently. Has shown his power, 9HR in 32G, as well as his discerning eye with 22BB. Big knock on him and one of the reasons why he was considered a reach is that he isnt expected to stick at SS. Yanks don't need more SS prospects. Sweeney will eventually slot into 3B and work his way up the chain
  15. You aren't wrong. From making this an all or nothing team to continually seeking out player types that break down, he has not put together championship level teams. They always have a fatal flaw that gets exploited and ends their year. Last year it was being too RHed in the lineup. TB threw all 97mph+ RHP and shut down the Yanks in their final game last year. I do legitimately think the Yanks got robbed in 17 and 19 when they lost to the cheating Astros and their garbage can, buzzer BS. 18 they lost to a superior team. 20 was supposed to be a banner year, but we relied to heavily on some of our younger talent and it showed. Sanchez and Torres went into the shitter, Hicks couldnt stay healthy, and the pitching was abhorrent outside for Cole, but they still managed to take the AL champs to 5 games and lost with their closer on the hill. But the flaw was being too RHH heavy and it was exploited in a must win scenario. This year, there is just something missing. The lineup should be crushing teams. Even with Torres being bad this year and Lemahieu having an off year, I would expect that the core of the lineup could mash their way to a top 5 offensive finish, but they just can't. They hit way to many solo homers and K way too much with guys on base. They have zero idea how to run the bases and no idea how to hit to situations. I do not know if Cashman goes, if he does, so be it. But I doubt it would surprise anyone if the Yanks got a new managerial team and they absolutely destroyed the AL next year like they were supposed to this year.
  16. Now they’re in the s*** here. Offense goes silent. Ace stumbles and hasn’t looked good since his hamstring tightened up. They need to gain a game during the three gamer with Texas and then win the Sox series to tie with them. The Toronto series will be a bear, but the TB series should be cake as they’ll already have clinched. That being said, don’t think this team is capable of rising to the occasion. They sink every chance they get
  17. When the Sox started their swoon post trade deadline, I think everyone thought the other shoe was finally dropping. The Sox are a talented yet tremendously flawed team who have been relying on better than norm performances from a lot of their auxiliary players. That usually doesn’t hold. Major credit to Cora for pushing the right butttons. Most people thought the Sox were a 75-80 win team. Bloom and Cora proved them all wrong. No matter the outcome, the resurgence after the swoon seals my vote for Cora as MOY this year
  18. Crunch time shows you the teams who rise and those who lie down. This dog don’t hunt. Put it down
  19. Nothing, really?
  20. Boone is a plague
  21. Thing I hate about Boone and love about Cora. Down the stretch, Cora is managing like a guy who will do anything to get into the playoffs. Boone is managing like a guy who has already locked up a playoff spot.
  22. Yanks making like Cinderella when she got to the ball….
  23. Lol, he and his near 10ERA says otherwise
  24. They’re in trouble regardless. Their lineup full of all stars can’t hit and their staff full of all stars can’t stay healthy. It’s a bad combo
  25. Lindor owns Chad Green. So yeah, let him face a red hot Lindor again with a tied ball game. What can go wrong….
