  1. The best franchise in the history of sports will win the series
  2. Game 1: Hammel vs Sabathia @ Camden Yards. Lineups pending. The Yankees outclass there guys everywhere except middle relief, but the O's have put on their man pants any time the Yankees are in the other dugout. This is gonna be a fun series. Enjoy the games tonight, I will be working, although will be around for the next 4, should we get that far.
  3. 9-28 since the trade. That is the team returning plus Lackey and Middlebrooks. A team that couldnt win 25% of their games. My fearless prediction for 2013 is that the sox finish with more than 60 wins.
  4. That's like picking a winner in the "Who should sit on my face competition" between Cathy Bates and Rosie O'Donnell
  5. You need to find a better line. While you may dislike the Yankees, they did have the best record in the AL. Hence, they did not suck, and saying so makes you sound retarded
  6. Not true at all. If we lose tomorrow, but win game 2, then it is a 3 game series, all played in the Bronx. There is massive pressure on the O's and Cards to win the first 2 games
  7. It's when I am trying to log on. Most of the time, once it loads, I dont get them. I had a significant time this morning and yesterday with them
  8. Oakland doesnt scare me at all. Outside of Parker, their rotation isnt anything special and outside of Parker and Milone only pitches well at Oakland. Their #3 starter is AJ Griffen who we have destroyed. They will not be able to hang in a best of 7 against us, unless their bats get white hot. The Tigers are my biggest fear.
  9. This site is becoming very difficult to follow with the insane amount of database errors. Any hope on the horizon to eliminate these?
  10. And jung, I think the Yankees can wipe out the A's, as we have shown we can hit their pitching. The interesting thing is the A's have proven they can hit our bullpen with 2 blown saves by Soriano and a few circus type outings from our middle relievers. I do not, in any way, shape or form want to face the Tigers in any sort of series. They have underachieved all yr to the tune of the AL Central title. They have a lights out ace in Verlander, a #2 and 3 who we never hit in Fister and Sherzer and a lineup that is deep and powerful. I am pulling for the A's hard here as I think the Tigers are the only team that can eliminate us before the WS
  11. Taz, you don't know how the games work this yr, do you? This yr only, the WC winners will play the first 2 games at home and then the final 3 at the division winner's park. This is an advantage in terms of momentum, but a decided disadvantage if they lose 1 of the first 2. All we need tomorrow is CC to take game 1, and I feel we have a decided advantage in taking the series
  12. Joe Nathan is doing his playoff suck fest in the play in game
  13. BTW, for all you guys out there wanting to grab Hamilton and Greinke, are you watching tonight's game? Hamilton is getting booed mercilessly, and he doesnt even look like he wants to be here and is just completely bowing out.
  14. Talk about a good trade all around. The O's get a 30HR basher who wasnt getting opportunities in Texas and the Rangers get a lock down setup man. Obviously, the O's got the better end, but both teams benefitted
  15. The point I am trying to make is that he hasnt pitched in many games this yr (11IP) and no matter how much he works in the offseason, you learn to trust your stuff in game action. He hasnt done anything significant in a year, he has to relearn his stuff and his body now that he is coming off surgery. Couple that with the fact that prior to his injury, he was a work in progress and you have a guy who needs work. You dont start a guy like that in a rotation at the beginning of the season, and I think the sox will see the point and start him in AAA
  16. That is true, but 2 of the 3 teams he faced in his division were offensively inept. 9 of his 30 starts were against Oakland and Seattle and he only faced Texas twice
  17. The O's are this yr's DBacks. They will be around .500 next yr
  18. The whole point is to give an advantage to the divison winners by assuming the two wild card teams burn their aces. If Texas wins, that will be appropriate. If the O's finish this off and then have 2 games at home, the whole advantage thing will slip into their favor since they dont have an ace
  19. His bad yr this yr saw him average under 6IP per start and he was destroyed in a pretty light offensive division
  20. Of course not. But look at guys who recently came back from TJS and tell me how long it took for them to get back into the flow of things? And we are talking about guys who are established players like Chamberlain, Wainright, etc. This kid is a work in progress coming off TJS. It'd be like me touting Manny Banuelos as a rotation option out of the gate in 2014. It just isnt happening
  21. You are missing the ENTIRE POINT! He's coming off TJS. He has command issues. He hasnt thrown more than 110 innings in a season. He just missed almost all of 2012 He has consistency issues. HOW DOES THAT MAKE HIM READY FOR THE BIGS? You are looking at the 99mph fastball and are looking past his warts. If handled right, he could be a hell of a starter. If thrown out there to the wolves in 2013, he will be a liability. Now, if he goes to AAA, dominates for a couple months, shows command and consistency, then he could be brought up and might be a finished product.
  22. A top of the rotation starter would be a #1 starter, ie an ace. Also, Haren is coming off a back injury and a loss of velocity. He could certainly regain that status, but he's far from certain. Now, I think he is a great idea for you guys, but counting on him to lead your rotation is probably not wise if you plan on winning the AL East next yr. If your plan is to build talent and place hold until 2014, then he is a wise decision, especially since you could get a draft pick for him if he signs a 1 yr deal. I honestly think he'd be a great idea for NY. 1 yr deal, lots of incentives and if he returns to glory he is solid. If he doesnt, then we have the depth to eat the loss. I wouldnt count on him though
  23. I am torn on who to root for. The Rangers suffered some major rotational losses when they lost Wilson to LAA, lost Lewis to forearm surgery, lost Feliz to TJS, and then saw Oswalt and Dempster implode. I think we could definitely bludgeon their pitching. But we also have to shut down that offense, which I am unsure we can do through an entire series. Then there is Baltimore, whose pitching is eminently hittable, their lineup is powerful but not dominant and their defense is meh. But after the first month of the season, they have owned us and seem to play up every time we play. Eliminating Darvish from throwing 2 games in the series leads me to want the Rangers to win. Plus, Joe Nathan is their closer and magical things happen when he closes playoff games against us
  24. If he were in the Yankees system, he'd be starting at AAA
  25. fans are pelting the field with beer bottles
