  1. That's a ridiculous quote. He has more upside in what way? He's gonna hit .400 with 40HR and 80 steals? That's a ridiculous statement and you know it
  2. He's a 16 yr old from the Dominican. He actually turned 16 today, so he was eligible to sign. Ranked the #5 IFA prospect in the world. He's 6'2 175, ran the fastest 60 yard dash of all DPL prospects at 6.49sec. He has a strong swing and plus bat speed already. He signed for $1.4 mil. Here's some info on him. Keep investing Yankees. We're gonna need it http://dplbaseball.com/scouts-corner/leonardo-molina-of-2013/
  3. We need to bring up Betances and let Chamberlain go. Its too bad, really, that Joba imploded to this degree. A combination of immaturity, injury and organizational buttf***ing cost him a lucrative career. Its time to cut bait. He's a FA at years end and he isn't worth anything on the market and we aren't resigning him. And its time for the Betances era to begin. Finally, the Yankees figured it out with Dellin. He isn't a starter. He's 6'8" and throws near 100mph with an absolutely knee buckling curve. In short stints, he's been able to command his pitches, somewhat. He still walks too many (20 in 43.2IP as a reliever) but he has been absolutely lights out otherwise. He hasn't allowed a run in his last 16.1IP striking out 26 in that time. It's time to bring him up and see what he can do. The kid is 25 now, time to take off the gloves.
  4. He's a reliever. The sooner they realize this, the better. He reminds me of Betances. Electric arm with amazing stuff, no idea where the f*** he's throwing it. The Yankees finally figured it out and I have a feeling our kid will actually be in the bigs for good soon. Maybe the sox will figure out the same. Put him in the stretch, cut his arsenal down to FB, slider and give him 1 inning stints and watch him develop
  5. SS, Farrell is doing a great job of using his whole bench without overexposing anyone. The job of a manager is to put players into situations where they are most likely to succeed and Farrell has been pretty masterful at that on the offensive end. His pitching decisions, surprisingly, have been where he's slumped at times, but hes pushing all the right buttons offensively
  6. With ARod's money looking like its gonna be off the books for 2014, I'd make a serious run at keeping Kuroda.
  7. Kuroda has been awesome and should be top 5 in CY voting this yr. The guy has just had some seriously s***** luck. If he put up that effort in any other year prior to this one, he'd be on his way to 20+ wins
  8. And you practically got him for a guy who didn't have a spot in this org whose number were buiyed by an unsustainable 150AB stretch. Anyone complaining about this deal from a sox perspective is an idiot
  9. In terms of the sox, this wasn't a deal for October. This was a deal to get to October. You've been relying on Workman, who may or may not be anything special and who could cost you games in the future. He's insurance for Buchholz should his vagina continue to weep. And he's probably your #3 or 4 in the playoffs should you get all your guns back beforehand. I hate to say it, but this acquisition makes you the odds on favorite to win the east
  10. This is a baffling deal from the White Sox perspective. Peavy was signed to a reasonable deal for a guy whose a 2 or a 3. He's probably the best pitcher on the market at the deadline. And they effectively got one good prospect and 3 guys who look to have nearly no potential for impact in the near future.
  11. I just don't get this from the White Sox perspective. They get an OF prospect who's projected to be above average. You don't deal the best pitcher on the market at the deadline for a guy who's good. You better get a cant miss guy
  12. So Iglesias and 2 lottery tickets. This is a f***ing steal for Boston
  13. He's the guy they'd DFA to get Iglesias.
  14. If all you had to give up was Iglesias and some trash, then this is a f***ing brilliant trade. You have Drew for this yr, you have WMB to play 3b and you have a top 5 prospect at SS for next yr. Also, you have 2 more yrs of control on Peavy, who, when healthy, is a solid #2 in the AL. The only bugaboo about Peavy when it comes to performance is his HR rate. I hope that gets magnified in Fenway, but I have a feeling this just significantly helped you out
  15. There has to be more than Iglesias. Peavy is probably the best pitcher on the block up to the deadline (Lee isn't really on the block if Amaro is asking for your top 4 prospects) and you get him for a BABIP anomaly, all glove no stick kid? Plus, you have Peavy for another 2 yrs. There has to be another guy involved. Maybe Owens?
  16. Avisail Garcia is expected to head to Chicago.
  17. From the sounds of it, Lee would have cost them Bogaerts plus Bradley. They get Peavy for Iglesias as the headliner, its a no-brainer
  18. I figured this would get its own thread
  19. This sounds like a Theo-esque power struggle. Something I think Cashman will win when you look at the garbage on the field.
  20. Who gives a f***. There, that's done. It appears the commish is ready to use the "Best interest of the game" clause to ban ARod for life. That would be pretty harsh, but pretty much un-appealable as Selig is the only one who can hear an appeal if he suspends someone for that.
  21. Amaro had said he wouldn't eat any money on the Lee trade and would want elite talent. Lets see if he sticks to it
  22. The overall numbers have been good. But the guy who skewed those numbers has been on the shelf for a long time and a fresh TJS recovery is leading your staff in the ERA department right now. You need someone to help
  23. The union has no interest in fighting this fight for him. MLB cannot suspend a guy for life due to roids unless they've been caught three times. But actively trying to obstruct MLB's investigation is likely why theyre trying to ban him for a long, long time
  24. Detroit is the team nobody wants to face. Scherzer, Verlander, Sanchez and Fister in the rotation. Miggy, Fielder, et al in the lineup. They're the team to beat in the AL IMHO
  25. Jung, I agree, the CBA will be vastly different next time around. The players want this crap out as much as the owners. I have a feeling any drug related suspension will make the rest of the contract for that player non-guaranteed
