Well, I stuck a fork in this season a long time ago, but like that guy in Monty Python, they aren't dead yet. It's not because they deserve it, more because nobody seems to want the last WC slot. But I'll say this. When you're home against your biggest rival in September, 3 games out of a PO spot, you cannot blow a save then the game and follow it up with blowing a 5 run lead. Either the team is gassed, their leadership is broken, or they just aren't very good. I'm gonna go with all 3. The first game was a chance for Nova to stake a claim as the ace heading into 2014. He didn't. Mo had a shot to show he still had it, yet he didn't. Last night, our offense stayed potent, but inexplicably, we give the ball to a new convert to the pen and allow him the opportunity to put 4 runners on base. That shows terrible execution and judgement. We have 40 guys who are allowed to play in these games, no reason to have to throw the Hail Mary when up by 5. It's how the season has been. Build up to something positive only to see a massive disappointment. They don't deserve it
