    Leyland over managed that game and it bit him in the ass. I don't know why he went to Smyly for one batter than brings in his D league closer to face Papi. Papi hit .330 vs righties this yr and Smyly had been death a lefties. I just for get that decision to burn Smyly vs Ellsbury and pull him after that one AB.

    So having a guy who has been lights out in his last 2 postseasons and who has undeniably been the best pitcher in the AL over the last 5 years isn't an advantage over a guy who is coming off TJS and looked pretty shaky in his only postseason start thus far?

    If it goes 7, you've got John Lackey against Justin Verlander. If the sox are gonna win this, they need to win this in 6. I know Scherzer and Sanchez had better seasons than Verlander, but we all know he is the guy you don't want to face in a must win

    You go to Detroit down 2-0 and have to face Verlander twice more and you're done. Tonight is a must win for the sox

    How bout you size up the fact that you'll be facing the AL ERA leader, the AL 2013 Cy Young front-runner and the best pitcher in the bigs over the last 5 yrs in the first 3 games? The Tigers pitching is insane

    Verlander has thrown 16 innings of shutout ball vs a pretty good offense, the last 8 in an elimination game. Good luck vs him. This is gonna be an awesome series

    I didn't post a prediction, but I thought with would be Tigers-Dodgers.

    Surprised to see Colon go in game 5 vs the Tigers. I thought Gray was their most impressive pitcher thus far in these playoffs. They are going with their best guy during the regular season, but the hot hand is the way to go in elimination games. The Tigers are gonna run Verlander out there, and he looked back to his dominant self in his last start. I have a feeling the Tigers are coming out of that series with Scherzer and Sanchez starting games 1 and 2.

    Moore collapsed after that error. And Price might be a big boy, but he is showing he is not mentally tough.

    Yeah. Game 1 turned on a big error from Myers. Game 2, they made 2 more errors and Price was too affected by the crowd to be effective. Yesterday, they tried to give the game away in the 9th. They have been the clearly inferior team here showing a complete and total lack of poise. They don't deserve to win. The sox have done their best to take advantage of their errors.
