  1. It's Ortiz, and it isn't close. Ortiz line is 11 for 15, 5R, 2 2b, 2HR, 6RBI, 4BB. That is .733/.789/1.267 for an OPS of 2.056. That isn't even human.
  2. Like I said, I think the Yankees will make enough acquisitions to be a 85 win team next yr. They'll be in playoff contention. The shackles come off in 2015. Hopefully, by then, our minor league system will produce some depth and we can really show our financial might.
  3. You do know that up until this season, the Yankees had won the WS more recently, right Paula? And as we saw with the Red Sox, a few good breaks and a few solid additions can take a team from worst to first. Hell, NY isn't even the worst team in the AL East, lol and we had horrendous injuries limiting this team. I do think the Yankees will still be a borderline playoff team in 2014 due to their monetary limitations, but once the pursestrings open again in 2015, they'll be fighting for the top. Enjoy your time on top people.
  4. So Farrell's lucky charm won the game for you guys. Buch looked gassed, but Doubie pitched well. It's a 3 game series now. This has been a fun series to watch
  5. When it comes to interference, intent does not matter. Just like in a rundown if a player gets too close accidentally and bumps into the runner, it's interference. The question is, can you be interfering if the runner is trying to run and isn't in the baseline when the supposed interference takes place
  6. Do you know that Drew is the second worst postseason hitter in Red Sox history, and their worst in 98 years?
  7. There were only two teams in the postseason that could disarm the sox. One played like s*** and lost to the sox and the other shat the bed to the Cards. The only way the sox lose this is if they give the games away, like they're trying to do tonight
  8. You guys are still winning this series. Your lineup is going to eat Kelly and Lynn alive
  9. Farrell looks like the sensai from Cobra Kai dojo
  10. That's pretty accurate. Thank goodness it wasn't TBS, though. They'd still miss the first AB of the inning
  11. So I hate the red sox obviously, but McCarver is a former Cardinal and he nearly reaches climax talking about Wacha...or anything Cardinal
  12. I would fully support a Beltran deal. I would like to see us get young players (like Tanaka) or older vets on short term deals. Beltran would be perfect. Our minor leagues shat the bed this year, but they aren't barren. They just need more time. We know from our glory days that you build the core through the farm and supplement with FA's. We successfully bought one championship, but that isn't the way to make a sustained winner. Tanaka may cost $100 mil, but only $50 mil or so will count vs the cap. McCann would be a stopgap measure, but would be another back end disaster. If we somehow get McCann, we'll be better in 2014, but will probably be dealing with another albatross by 2016 or 2017.
  13. I really, really hope the Cardinals win this series
  14. Leyland ended the series. That little f***er victorino. Congrats guys
  15. Fielder finds a way to be the goat again, lol
  16. I don't get Morales here. The guy isn't very accurate and you put him into a situation with little wiggle room. Breslow made more sense
  17. The late bite. It looks like a heater out of the hand, then it takes a turn. They are the toughest pitch to hit, IMO
  18. Ah, Craig Sager. A douche for the sake of being a douche
  19. Does anyone else want to punch Ken Rosenthal in his bow tie?
  20. He is an ace. He just isn't at the level of Kershaw IMO. Although Kershaw just dropped a peg in my mind last night. An ace cannot implode in an elimination game like that.
  21. So the Dodgers just imploded. Wow. Cards in the WS, not the team I expected, but Wainwright will be ready.
