  1. He's a very streaky player. When on, he is a monster. When off, he is a K machine that doesn't walk. Now that Iglesias is gone, though, you kinda have to ride with him and hope he turns into a Mike Lowell kind of player
  2. LOL, Dojji, pot meet kettle. Regardless, it isn't just about the prospects Dojji. You have 6 bona fide MLB starters. You don't spend $100 mil to get a 7th. It doesn't make sense. Now, if you wanted to keep all 6, then that's fine, but you focus your resources elsewhere
  3. That's it man. You have solid starters who take the bump and you will win a lot of games. Your offense helped out and finding a ridiculous season out of Uehara didn't hurt either. But when your pen isn't overworked, your team suddenly gets better in its entirety.
  4. I was at the game on Thursday. It was completely amazing, the best atmosphere I've seen since the old stadium. I feel bad that we booed Betances, but he didn't belong in that situation. The place exploded when Mo started warming up. When he came in, the place shook. And when Jete and Pettitte took him out, it got even louder. The funny thing is, the place was half empty until the 7th. Nobody have a s*** about the game, everyone was there for Mo. I'll never forget that game, it was awesome
  5. Apparently Robbie is looking for a 10 year $305 million contract from the Yankees. If that is the case, GTFO!
  6. You have Bradley waiting in the wings. You have LF locked in with Carp and Gomes as well as RF with Victorino. Signing Choo past 30 and losing a 1st rounder doesn't sound like the sox MO for a position that isn't a need.
  7. I highly, highly, highly doubt any team other than the Yankees or the Dodgers have this kid come 2014. The Yankees have the need and can write off the posting fee without having to pay tax on it. The sox don't need this kid and he will likely cost them about $75-$100 mil when all is said and done
  8. I honestly hope the sox make a swift exit from the postseason.
  9. So a healthy Jeter and Youkilis wouldn't have helped? You're a shrew
  10. It's amazing that they were 12 games over .500 at 30-18 with the cast of characters they had on the DL. I was flying high then because Jeter, Tex, Youk, ARod and Granderson were due back at any moment. Only 2 actually came back for good and neither until after the ASB. Add in the meltdown of CC and the complete and total implosion of Kuroda in the final month and we've got nothing. This is gonna start a long and arduous process back to the top that might take a few years time. I just hope we don't do something stupid like throw a ton of money and a first rounder at Choo. We need so much more than that to be competitive
  11. The good thing is, I'll be able to see Mo's last home game
  12. One more game and we're done. This team has been cursed from day 1. The offseason started 6 months ago
  13. I'm starting it now
  14. So you're saying Lester has poor taste? CC's wife is ugly
  15. Ah, yes. He made his bed, and when he climbs in it, he gets to kiss his 2009 World Series ring
  16. Detroit and Oakland offer the biggest challenge, yet they'll likely only have to face one of them. They shouldn't have a problem with the WC since their best pitcher would be burned and the teams in the WC hunt are pretty one dimensional.
  17. If you commit a crime, obstruct the investigation and bribe a witness, you'll get 3 charges. The crime, obstruction, and bribery. That's what has ARod in a pickle here. If he just admitted to it up front and never f***ed around, he'd be eligible all yr next yr
  18. He flagrantly used. He recruited others to the clinic. He actively tampered with the investigation and even tried to pay off Bosch and destroy information. He deserves his fate
  19. Cherington should win GM of the last 14 months or so. His trade with LA might be the best trade of all time from a chemistry and financial perspective. And while none of his moves we're flashy, they were all effective
  20. He's done for for 18 seasons man. Longevity plays into it, as does his playoff performance. 11ER in 140IP in the playoffs is insane
  21. And with him, you say goodbye to quite possibly the most dominant pitch of all time
  22. Very rarely do you get the chance to say goodbye to the undisputed, best ever, player at a position in baseball. There are debates about every position without any real consensus. Ask who the best hitter ever was in Boston, they say Williams. Ask in NY, and it's Ruth. Ask in Detroit and it's Cobb. Best starting pitcher ever? In Boston, it's Pedro (for a period of time), in LA, Koufax. In Atlanta, Maddux. But ask any fan with a brain, who's the best closer of all time and there is no debate. It's Mo. It also helps that he's just such a like able guy.
  23. YOTN. Earned runners is what I should have said
  24. BTW, this Sunday, the Yankee will honor Mo with a patch on their caps commemorating his number. Its the first time a tribute has been made by a team by a player still on the team. I'm gonna miss him. And the saddest f***ing thing is that this guy was the balls in the playoffs. More men have walked on the moon than have scored on Mariano in the playoffs. And instead of going out swinging in October, the Yankees go out with a whimper in September. Not a fitting end for the greatest closer of all time
