  1. He's slumping. I wouldn't use the term exposed. If he is exposed with belt high cutters down the middle, then I anticipate he will adjust
  2. It was aided for sure, but our farm was pretty stocked before that. Judge, Sanchez, Sevy, and Montgomery in the bigs. Outside of Frazier, Torres and Sheff, we have plenty of talent
  3. We had chance after chance, but such is life with a boom or bust offense. Judge hit a couple balls the other way, albeit not hard. He's at his best when he's hitting up the middle
  4. Enns was never going to get a chance. Littel has been dynamite, but lacks elite stuff. Both guys, while useful, were buried with the insane depth we have
  5. Littel and Enns going back to MIN. He's not an ace, but he can eat innings and has a good playoff resume. He's certainly better than what we currently are running out there
  6. Bogey and JBJ will be higher. Betts will be lower (first time through). ERod isn't eligible. Pom and Kelly will be much higher. You need to factor in about $5-10 mil of leeway for midseason moves. Based on these numbers and a $195 mil cap, I don't see how DD stays under.
  7. His presence in the order, especially last year when he was superhuman, allowed your lineup to elongate and allowed the hitters around him to see more favorable pitches.
  8. This is what I've been harping on. I know he sox want to stay below the lux tax, but I don't get it. You've got a 3 year window. You can reset the tax then and deal off your expensive core to reset your farm. If you win now, you're immortal
  9. Jaime Garcia for Zach Littel? Looks like it's possible. We got Littel from the M's for James Pazos. He's a back end starting prospect who tops out low 90s, but has a nice 3 pitch mix. He's been one of the best starters in our system this year, but is trumped in terms of upside by Kaprielian, Sheffield, Acevedo and Adams.
  10. Xander's "hit" was due to Cahill not covering 1b
  11. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer
  12. I told you the bats would come out. This guy is awful
  13. Xander has been the royals MVP today
  14. What a weak homer. Betts had that
  15. Victorino too
  16. Bogaerts with a bonehead move
  17. Looking to 2018, the sox cap space is limited. In terms of long term contracts, you're at $132 mil (Pablo, Hanley, Sale, Pedroia, Price, Porcello, Kimbrel) You'll have to go through arb again with Bogaerts, Bradley, Holt, Kelly, Thornburg, and Pomeranz. You'll have to go through it for the first time with Betts. Arb really looks at the prior two seasons, so even with Bogey struggling, his 2016 will weigh heavily. You're likely looking at $35 mil for those 6 guys. If the cap is $195 and DD doesn't want to cross it, then you've got $32 mil to fill 12 spots on your roster. Otherwise known as no big deals to be made this offseason
  18. The 2013 Red Sox were quite possibly the luckiest baseball team I have ever seen. Everywhere the sox turned, they seemed to get one last gasp out of a veteran who was on the outs. That just doesn't happen
  19. The plan was to upgrade your offense by strengthening your pitching. And it worked. What you didn't expect was that the loss of Papi would send a power outage across your lineup. Your team has the second worst SLG in the AL and if Trout didn't miss 6 weeks, it'd probably be the worst. Last year, you were the best. Your pitching improved by 0.3 runs per 9, enough to be tied with Cleveland for the best in baseball. Last year, you were tied for third. The pitching plan was spot on. What DD didn't forsee was how anemic your offense would be and now he doesn't have the chips to fix it
  20. We did get lucky to a degree. We start a second year guy coming off a horrible year and he's an ace. We start a rookie 4th rounder and he turns into the reincarnation of Pettitte. No major offensive upgrades and a rookie coming off a terrible debut becomes an MVP candidate.
  21. Your offense wasn't this bad when Price was out
  22. So Tanner Houck was worth 3 seasons of EE? If he's on your team this year, you guys are still in first
  23. You're not dumb spud. The sox brass are
