  1. Jason Donald is 1/8th Cherokee. This has nothing to do with ancestry, the man ate a f***ing Indian.
  2. When Mitch Talbot pees, he clogs the toilet.
  3. Now ARod is hurt. This game is going very, very well. Psyched even
  4. Mitch Talbot built a time machine and went back in time to stop the JFK assassination. As Oswald shot, Mitch Talbot met all three bullets with his beard, deflecting them. JFK's head exploded out of sheer amazement.
  5. When Travis Hafner wants an egg, he cracks open a chicken
  6. You could always go get Jermaine Dye
  7. Then he does what he did to Markakis. That curve was just nasty
  8. Bad AJ has shown up. Single, SB, HBP, WP. Awesome
  9. Luis Valbuena will never have a heart attack. His heart would never be foolish enough to attack him
  10. No, you arent right. The only thing you have is at bats, that's it. Enjoy fantasy land!
  11. Mitch Talbot counted to infinity, twice
  12. It is your side. The axillary line is your arm pit, so it is a line drawn right down your arm pit. So he broke another rib diving? Hmmm. That's interesting. This guy is frickin fragile. He's got more edema too? The edema should have subsided by now, meaning he isnt resting as he should. He's gonna be out for awhile
  13. Dipre, you dont deal well with actual proof do you? You seem to forget that the entire point of the argument was offense. Posada has provided higher OPS's over every sample size you can get. Posada has been a bit more injury prone due to his older age, but he has been our starting catcher predominantly over the past 5 seasons. Last yr, he caught over 100 games. 2008, he blew out his shoulder, 2007 he caught more than 100 games. Also, VMart wont be a catcher for much longer anyway since his defense blows, so with that argument, you kinda lose a bunch of leverage as well. In the end, we have the stats, which favor Posada rather convincingly. Continue smoking the pipe
  14. The boogeyman checks under his bed for Mitch Talbot
  15. All bow to the prowess of the mighty Cleveland Guardians
  16. He reinjured it swinging. They are finally going to do it the right way and let him heal
  17. Posada missed almost the entire season in 2008. That skews data a bit there Dipre. Your point was offense. I proved you wrong. Eat it
  18. 1. Cito Culver- Did not like the pick initially due to the players already on the list, although I have come to understand it now that the draft is complete. He's a skinny kid with good speed, a great arm, plays very strong defense and has shown good things with the stick. Apparently, the Yankees saw him bat over 200 times in the past yr. So while the media outlets were reporting other players linked to NY, Oppenheimer had his eyes on this kid. DO is sure he can stick as a SS, which brings up his value, and was informed prior to day 2, that he wasnt going to last to their second selection. Overall, very athletic kid with a slick glove and promise with the bat. He sounds like a solid backup at worst due to his glove, with the ceiling of being an above average starting SS. But his bat will dictate how fast he progresses.

  20. Dellin Betances makes his long awaited return from Tommy John Surgery tonight. Word is, he looks pretty impressive now that he's healthy. We'll see if he can get FSL hitters out before getting my hopes up
  21. Nowadays, you can get bats with thin handles which effectively allow you to increase your bat speed due to decreased weight, but keep the barrel solid. Those should be illegal
  22. Mythbusters did a show on it, actually. Very interesting. They standardized the swing with a machine. They standardized the velocity. Then took over 100 swings with 2 identical bats, except one was corked. There was no significant statistical difference. IIRC, the corked bat didnt meet statistical significance, but was actually shorter than the non-corked one. Regardless, it doesnt make any sense for cork to increase the force impacted on the ball, especially since cork is more pliable than the hard wood of ash or maple. It should deaden the ball a little.
  23. Exactly. Watching Cano jump into batting title and MVP races is pretty nice to see, especially after watching his progression from his rookie yr. Same with Hughes and his emergence this yr. It's nice to see, especially after watching the struggles that young kids go through on their way there
