  1. It's quite good in fact. But he didn't throw a combined 200 innings in his 4 year contract.
  2. Yeah it's in the "Farewell" thread. Pretty ridiculous.
  3. Petty note: If we do get Martin, I doubt he would hit 8th. What about: Pedroia Martin Ortiz Youkilis Drew Bay Lowell Lowrie Ellsbury ?
  4. I'd be happy to give Varitek Posada-like money, if he gave us Posada-like performance (circa 2007). Deal?
  5. I know he's a reliever, but Okajima was 32 when we signed him.
  6. Well obviously they weren't going to exercise his option, it was for 13 mil. They still might re-sign him for a lot cheaper.
  7. It could go either way. I wouldn't take those stats too seriously, just posted them for reference.
  8. I'm going to bump this, as a serious possibility for the 09 rotation. MLBTR (yeah, yeah) predicts the Sox signing him in their Top 50 FA's feature, so I figure its worth discussing. He's already 33 years old. His career numbers are: 103-67, 3.29 ERA, 1216 K/326 BB. All of that being in Japan of course. Interesting?
  9. Ignore Gom. Welcome.
  10. Well I wouldn't say we knew this would happen, but its exciting. McAdam says he doesn't see the Sox making a push. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view.bg?articleid=1129894&srvc=rss
  11. Here's what it actually says: It would take a fortune. Young, cheap, catcher, awesome.
  12. It doesn't seem like he spent six years with us. Well, he was pretty good in 2003, 2005 and 2007, so I'll commend him for that. But last year, watching him pitch was a nightmare.
  13. Sox should nab Clement again.
  14. That would be a lot of guys playing pretty unfamiliar positions. I'll pass.
  15. He's not going to add too much.
  16. Yeah thats not surprising at all, at least the Yankees part. I didn't/don't see the Sox getting him anyways.
  17. You just gotta believe, man.
  18. Yeah the whole AFC South has been a surprise. Titans are going to win the division and at least one of the Colts are going to have to fight to get a WC berth. I think they do though.
  19. The Sox can sign Tex if they want to, they're one of the richest teams in baseball.
  20. No, its just...its just so wrong.
  21. SPLASH!
  22. Mike Cameron's option was exercised by the Brewers, 10 mil.
  23. Wow. Cool.
