  1. You're lucky, you got off easy this time...
  2. I can't see the Royals doing a deal with Kennedy as the center, at least not for DeJesus.
  3. Yeah they're voted for before the playoffs. This brings up the age old debate of whether MVP's should come from playoff teams. I say no, it's a reward for the individual player.
  4. I mean win total for the individual pitcher not their team.
  5. Lol, Ian Kennedy.
  6. Yeah Howard was on a World Series winning team, but he isn't even their best hitter. At least IMO, Utley is better than Howard. Howard's BA and OBP (.251, .339) make it hard to make a case for him, again IMO.
  7. Missing a whole month won't help.
  8. Good point. Still, in the actual votes, Longoria definitely wins. Maybe unanimous.
  9. But yeah, I'll just reiterate what everyone said. Nothing has really changed.
  10. Yeah, voters look at win total wayyyyy too much.
  11. Yeah DeJesus would be good for you guys. Taveras is miserable though. Steals can only do so much if you only get on 30.8% of the time.
  12. No-brainer IMO. I would have been shocked if they didn't do it.
  13. Is it weird that whenever I write "Fernando", I add an "n" at the end, making it Fernandon? Every damn time.
  14. That Tazawa story is interesting. I still see a MLB team going for him anyways.
  15. I see them signing 2 big starters. CC, and either Burnett or Lowe.
  16. Here's a fantastic article by Joe Sheehan of Baseball Prospectus. It's exclusive to subscribers, so here:
  17. Some things today: -Chad Cordero, former Red Sox closer candidate and actual good pitcher, is a FA after refusing a AAA assignment. -Wily Mo Pena exercised his 2009 option with Washington. -The Mets re-signed Fernando Tatis for 1 year, 1.7 M.
  18. Woohoo 18 month bump! Didn't warrant its own thread, but JOE MORGAN MIGHT NOT BE DOING SUNDAY NIGHT GAMES ANYMORE! http://www.firejoemorgan.com/2008/10/omg-omg-omg.html
  19. Then I find it hard to make a case for a guy who pitched a half a season.
  20. Are voters supposed to count Sabathia's season with Cleveland when voting for NL Cy?
  21. Intriguing. He hasn't played RF since he was with Cleveland.
  22. Yeah this. And Manny's last, though I didn't know it at the time.
